Chad Kelly, nephew of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, was arrested in Buffalo over the weekend for punching a bouncer in the face and threatening to shoot up the entire bar with an AK-47. He signed his scholarship offer from Ole Miss on Wednesday. Yeah, that’s probably not happening anymore.

From the Buffalo News:

Kelly, 20, of Niagara Falls, refused to leave Encore at 492 Pearl St. about 3:15 a.m. and punched a bouncer in the face, Buffalo police said. Kelly’s companion, Brandon Hickey, 21, of Clarence, had been thrown out of the bar earlier and tried to re-enter, police said.

Kelly continued to fight with two bouncers and stated “I’m going to go to my car and get my AK-47 and spray this place,” according to a report.

Kelly was forcibly removed from the vehicle, officers said. Police said Kelly kicked and tried to swing at officers as they removed him from the vehicle. They said he resisted getting into a patrol vehicle and struggled with staff at central booking.

Kelly has had no shortage of controversy during his football career. After committing to Clemson in 2012, he tweeted at backup Clemson quarterback Cole Stoudt, “Your on the bench for a reason. And i come soon! Just letting you know.”

He spent most of his high school career suspended from his high school team, and he got kicked off the squad at least once. His career at Clemson was short-lived. At halftime of last year’s Tigers spring football game, he yelled at his coaches for not going for it on a fourth and short. Following that incident, he was asked to leave the program.

And even if you can forgive all of that, there is a rap called “Chad Kelly,” where the phrase “Swag Kelly” is used in a non-ironic manner.

This is the part of the story where I usually say something snarky, but I really don’t have anything. At least Johnny Manziel is endearingly dumb with his shenanigans. This kid is just a huge loser and a waste of talent who doesn’t deserve another shot at playing college football.

What a shame.

It’s a shame that this piece of shit is associated with Jim Kelly, a truly classy and inspirational guy.

He’s definitely the type of guy who goes “DO YOU KNOW WHO MY UNCLE IS” on a regular basis.

I’ll be completely transparent: I listened to the whole song. The entire time I’m thinking: Todd Storm needs an anthem like this. Get on it, Bacon.

I think this incident is just a vehicle for him to launch his rap career. He’s probably top 5 rappers who are also former college QBs.
