The Filthiest Golf Trick Shots From Coach Rusty

Ryan Rustand (@coach_rusty on Instagram) garnered a following for his unique and impressive set of golf trick shots. You won’t find the stunts he can pull off with a wedge anywhere else. Here are some of our favorite highlights.

Rustand always dreamt of becoming a professional golfer, but he couldn’t have predicted the route he ended up taking. According to his Facebook page, he originally sought a career as a more traditional athlete in the sport. But when he lost track of what drew him to golf in the first place, Rustand had an unexpected revelation while messing around between strokes.

Throughout my endeavors [sic] I started to lose focus of the most important aspect of golf….that being fun. I was tied up with work so my game was struggling. I would practice without reward, and was falling apart. The downfall of my game was the best thing that had ever happened to me. On a warm summer night in Winter Park, Fl I was out on the range. I was hitting ball after ball until my body couldn’t take another stroke. I then got out my wedge and started juggling the golf ball. I wasn’t any good, but it made me smile because it was fun. So fun in fact that I started doing it more than practicing my game.

He honed — if not pioneered — his craft of golf ball juggling, and now, the Washington D.C-area athlete has racked up 33K followers.

Long story short, I got really good. I consider myself one of, if not the best in the world. I never saw this for myself, but here I am and I’m not looking back. It has become a passion, but most of all it is fun.

He just might be the best in the world at what he does. I’ve never seen anything else quite like it. If golf juggling blows up, I wonder what will come next. Custom trick shot clubs and balls?
