College Football Recruits Reveal Which School Has Best Unis, Coaches, And More

College football recruiting is a dog-eat-dog world. To be the best, you have to have the best. Top notch coaching staffs, lavish facilities, the best academics (for the smart recruits that is), best shot at going pro, and, of course, the best uniforms. Which schools do it better than the rest, though? As an average fan, we can argue back and forth about who is better (SMU clearly reigns supreme in every category).

SB Nation and Pick Six Previews decided to go about answering these questions in a better form, by surveying current college football recruits. SB Nation surveyed 31 of the top 100 recruits for 2017, while Pick Six surveyed 100 recruits from the 2017 and 2018 classes. SB Nation took care of all the surveys that didn’t include the uniforms.

Best Head Coach

Not shocking that Saban comes in at number one. What does surprise me here is that Kirby Smart made the cut. Dude has been a head coach for a total sum of zero games and kids are already crowning him one of the best head coaches in the game.

Best Coaching Staff

“Like them all” is such a cop out answer. Man up and give a damn answer, son.

Best Facilities

Iowa making the list shocks me. Where are they getting all the money to pump out sweet facilities? I mean corn commodity prices have taken a dive from where they were two years ago.

Best Football Conference

Big 12 is so bad that recruits don’t care or choose a non-Power 5 conference over them. Ouch.

Best Uniforms

But which of Oregon’s 300 jersey combinations are their favorite? Call me a traditionalist, but I’m a big fan of the old school style uniforms that teams like Alabama, Texas, and Penn State wear. Simple, yet effective. Speaking of those schools…

Worst Uniforms

Alabama can have the worst unis according to recruits but they’ll still get them to commit because, well, they are Alabama.

Favorite Sports Apparel Brand

Adidas over Under Armour? Russell Athletic making the cut? What areas of the country are these kids from? I’m Nike through and through, but even Under Armour would be my only other option. As Boobie Miles once eloquently put it, “Adidas can’t hold a nickel to Nike.”

Favorite Fast Food Joint

At least the kids are eating well — minus the three idiots that picked In N’ Out Burger. Place is garbage..
