College Students Campaign For Everyone To Pee In The Shower

Look, I piss in the shower. Chances are, you piss in the shower. It’s something we all do. Did I piss in the communal showers when I lived in the dorms? You bet your sweet ass I did, and I advocated that everyone else do it, too. Apparently it helps prevent athlete’s foot, although I’m not entirely convinced that’s totally true. What I didn’t do was start a student group that pushed for EVERYONE to pee in the shower and broadcast it all over campus. But that’s exactly what a couple of enterprising students at the University of East Anglia are doing. That’s in England, by the way.

Chris Dobson and Debs Torr (yes, that’s a real name) have started the “Go With The Flow” campaign, which urges all students to take care of their morning urine relief while in the shower. Dobson had some interesting points: “We’ve done the maths [Ha! ‘MATHS’], and this project stands to have a phenomenal impact. With 15,000 students at UEA, over a year we would save enough water to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool 26 times over. Imagine how big an impact it could have if we could get everyone in East Anglia, or even the UK, to change their morning habits.”

Dobson further added, “The campaign has been really divisive–people either seem to love it or hate it.” Well, no shit, Sherlock. The campaign currently has the tacit approval of the university, and it will represent the school at the Npower Future Leaders Challenge, which is supposed to inspire students to come up with an environmental initiative for their campus.

Peeing in the shower is…well, it’s one way to go, I guess..
