Colts Offensive Lineman Inactive After Missing Flight, Leading Candidate for 2015 Schmuck of the Year
NFL seasons are both physically and mentally taxing and require an excessive amount of focus and preparation before each game. With the lifelong dream of playing in a Super Bowl only a game away, you would expect laser sharp attention to detail from everyone involved with the four remaining teams.
These expectations are far from reality for Xavier Nixon, the Indianapolis Colts top reserve for both left and right tackle.
I’m not making this up: #Colts offensive tackle Xavier Nixon missed the flight and is listed as out for tomorrow, team reports.

With less than 48 hours from the most important game of the 24-year-old’s life, Nixon pulled one of the biggest bonehead moves of the young year by missing the team flight.
The Colts have since ruled him inactive for the game this evening against the Patriots. I’m sure Nixon could have caught the very next flight out to Foxboro, but I assume coach Chuck Pagano wanted to make an example out of Nixon.
I don’t know where “don’t fucking miss your team flight” falls on the list of responsibilities, but I’m sure it’s pretty high up there with “don’t carry (or get caught with) unregistered weapons” and “have your highly overpaid personal assistant carry your illegal drugs.”
Xavier Nixon, you have clearly cemented a marginal lead for the Schmuck of the Year early in 2015..
