Comedy Central’s “Big Time In Hollywood, FL” Is The Next Legendary Guy Comedy

Big Time in Hollywood Florida

Before writing this post about the new Comedy Central show “Big Time in Hollywood, FL” some of the staff, myself included, were able to watch the first three episodes of the series before they air. I sat in the conference room waiting for our ad guy to hit play, not really sure what to expect, but stoked that I was about to spend an hour or so “working” by watching TV.

By the end of the third episode, I’m pretty sure everyone else in the room was annoyed with me, because I had just spent basically the entirety of all three episodes crying laughing. I was out of breath. My chest hurt, and for the first time in a while, not thanks to hangover anxiety. “Big Time in Hollywood, FL” is the funniest premiere of a show I have seen since I was a grade schooler watching the pilot of “South Park” in my parents’ basement. It’s the best male-centric comedy since “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” I know we promote a lot of shows and movies on this site, but “Big Time in Hollywood, FL” is consistently, or, rather, relentlessly laugh out loud funny, and also brilliant.

The show’s two creators and stars, Alex Anfanger and Lenny Jacobson, have created a world of pure insanity. Their main characters, Jack and Ben — two man-child, early-30s brothers who still live at home — are two of the most gloriously selfish, dumb, and unapologetically destructive protagonists in the history of television. It is impressive how terrible these two people are, actually. The story follows these two delusional brothers — they think of themselves as filmmakers — as they scheme to keep on living at home, doing whatever the hell they want, after they’re finally kicked out of the house by their proper, controlling mother, and sweet, pushover father, the latter of the two whom they inexplicably hate with a fiery passion. This show has a real talent for mercilessly and terribly punishing the well-meaning and innocent.

Big Time, which is produced by Ben Stiller (who plays a large part in the first episode), is not a typical sitcom, by which I mean each episode is not a self-contained story with maybe some overarching plot points across the season. Each episode of Big Time totally informs the next. It’s all one storyline. It almost plays like a comedic “Breaking Bad.” And the way the story has gone so far, I’m legitimately annoyed that I have to wait three weeks before I get to see a new episode.

Whatever, I’ll go ahead and re-watch the first episode tonight on Comedy Central at 10:30 ET, because it is that good. Also my roommate is from Florida and any opportunity to make fun of his home state is a bonus.

Seriously, watch this show. You will not regret it. You will love it. This is the type of TV they should be making. Reward yourselves and Big Time’s creators by tuning in. Big Time In Hollywood, FL airs Wednesdays at 10:30/9:30c on Comedy Central but you can watch the first episode RIGHT NOW for FREE online by clicking here or on the Comedy Central App.

Thanks, Bacon. Needed something to cleanse the pallet after I just watched a video of some fuck cutting off a goats head.

I wasn’t being facetious. The show looks like a hoot, I was referencing the terrible goal decapitation I was subject to watching, prior to a video with actual comedic value, (i.e. Hollywood, FL.)

But instead of “legit” recommending it, you recommended it after being paid. We aren’t idiots…..

It’s a bit of a giveaway when the exact same link is on the TFM home page with the red “SPONSORED” flag.

Not usually one to support bacon’s shameless plugs, but that first episode was fucking hysterical.

What the hell made you decide to call yourself by your name and not Bacon. This is a site for fraternity humor not business propositions.
