The Ultimate Power Move: Cornell Student Presents Thesis In Bra And Underwear

Cornell University is held in high esteem across the country for its academic prestige. I don’t know much about it, but I do know Andy from The Office went there, so it must be a big deal.

Because it’s an Ivy League school, I always assumed that only intellectuals (read: nerds) attended Cornell University. That’s why I was so surprised when I found out one of these scholars pulled a bonafide power move during her thesis presentation.

A Cornell University student delivered her thesis wearing only her bra and underwear in protest of a professor who allegedly questioned her choice of clothing.

Letitia Chai stripped down to her undergarments while presenting in her “Acting in Public” class on Saturday because she wanted to stand up “against oppressive beliefs and discrimination.”

This came after Chai and Prof. Rebekah Maggor clashed on Wednesday. Chai was getting up to present a draft of her thesis when Maggor asked, “Is that really what you would wear?”

The professor obviously underestimated this woman when she chewed her out for wearing shorts during her practice presentation. Next thing prof knew, Chai was giving the real presentation half naked. BAM. That’ll teach this teach a thing or two about judging people.

I respect the hell out of this move. Move over preachers in the quad telling me I’m doomed to eternal damnation for my laundry list of sinful behavior; this is one form of campus protest I can absolutely get behind. It’s about time we saw more of this. All students — woman or man — should have the option to deliver their presentations in as little clothing as they so choose. College is about one’s freedom to choose, so why are schools dictating clothing choice?

I commend this student for being an absolute savage and asserting her dominance over this professor. Every student should have the right to present half naked because it’s fucking awesome..
