Dartmouth Fraternity And Sorority Parties Interrupted By Baltimore Protestors For…Some Reason
What started as a beautiful Derby Saturday in Hanover, New Hampshire for the Alpha Chi Alpha fraternity and Kappa Delta Epsilon sorority at Dartmouth took a weird turn when protestors showed up to their parties. Alpha Chi Alpha was in the midst of their annual Pigstick party, while Kappa Delta Epsilon was holding their Derby event.
They were caught off guard when a small group of student protestors, who were fresh off a protest from the day before over the incidents in Baltimore, crashed their parties.
From The Dartmouth:
The following day, a group of about 20 students protested outside of Alpha Chi Alpha fraternity’s annual Pigstick party and Kappa Delta Epsilon sorority’s Derby event, chanting “There are two Dartmouths, and they’re right here,” and “Single-sex organizations like your fraternity are part of the problem, Alpha Chi Alpha is part of the problem.”
The demonstrators first marched down Webster Avenue before settling in the parking lot behind Alpha Chi, where they remained for approximately 20 minutes. Several students attending Pigstick joined the demonstrators as they were chanting. Immediately after, the demonstrators moved to KDE to protest during Derby.
One protestor held a sign that read: “Bitch you thought we weren’t going to fuck up your day.” Despite the protests, the president of Alpha Chi Alpha said that both the fraternity members and the protestors were respectful of one another, and no altercations occurred between the two.
I don’t agree with the message that single-sex fraternities and sororities are a part of the problem. However, it’s good to see that neither side took things further than a few signs and chants that weren’t heard during the party..

What a joke
10 years ago at 3:55 pmWho the fuck would leave the party to protest?
10 years ago at 4:00 pmI am praying to god it was as a joke…blackballed if not.
10 years ago at 4:53 pmIt seems like the guys joined the chant aimed at them, we’ve done this before. Its probably why the idiots gave up and left after 20 minutes.
10 years ago at 5:44 pmWhen this student protest group was in the Baltimore inner city I wonder how among a population of education deprived citizens if they were aware of their Dartmouth Ivy League Privilege. I wonder if they Checked It.
10 years ago at 4:07 pmHow did these people get in to an Ivy League school? Probably protested the president’s driveway for a few days.
10 years ago at 4:20 pmI didn’t know people could be so sour about not getting a bid #TFM
10 years ago at 4:49 pmI’m glad the unemployed have finally found a way to better their lives by wasting a Saturday protesting a bunch of kids that have done nothing wrong.
10 years ago at 5:44 pmSo are single sex washrooms and single sex clothing stores part of the problem as well?
10 years ago at 5:59 pmWashroom? Not in the USofA, sir.
10 years ago at 6:26 pmDid you miss the sarcastic nature of my comment; or do you fellows not use the term “washroom” in your parts?
