Does Team USA Look Worried?

The opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics is Friday and Team USA recently flew into London from Barcelona, where they were training. All the training and preparation is wrapping up, and it’s time to focus and work on the mental aspect of each athlete’s given event. It’s just that 2012 Team USA could not care less about the mission at hand. They’ve been too busy playing grab ass and Instagramming their vacation abroad.

Many of these photos reveal that the 2012 version of Team USA is a far cry from the golfing, partying, free-swinging alphas of the ’92 Dream Team, but they have a certain nonchalant, carefree attitude that I’m starting to get behind.

“Shit them boys are havin’ the time of their lives!”

“Does that say which country we’re playing first?”

Kevin Love found his doppelganger.

And this one might be my favorite of them all. It shows superstar athletes on a plane sleeping like babies before one of the bigger weeks in their lives. I can’t sleep for shit on a plane, and I haven’t done anything near as important as representing my country in front of the whole world. I’d be wired. Sleeping masks, a snuggie, sunglasses; there is a lot of entertaining shit in here. My favorite part, though, is Coach Mike Krzyzewski sitting back in business class while the team is up front in first class.

Just great.
