Don’t Bash My Home

With the 2012 presidential election coming up, there has been an incredible amount of mudslinging from both sides of the American political spectrum. The Democrats have been coming up with clever ways to label forcing a redistribution of wealth, and have an unorganized and currently irrelevant occupy movement that has yet to inspire anyone to actually DO anything in terms of discourse. Conversely, the Republicans are dead set on making sure the world knows Obama and Marx are synonymous names as far as political positions are concerned and the Tea Party movement has somehow managed to convince half the public that they are the “freedom” party without realizing the hypocrisy that is telling people how to live their lives based on a book that not everyone reads.

Both camps are very determined to make sure that the world knows their candidate of choice for the presidency will provide the answer America needs for all of their difficult questions, meanwhile demonizing the utter shit out of the other party’s poster boy. Folks, I’m not about to tell you I’m pissed off about all of this. All of this is to be absolutely expected during an election year and I enjoy the fodder it provides for comedic analysis. However, I AM The Dapper Dipper, and I certainly AM pissed about something. The thing that keeps continuously annoying me is not the run-of-the-mill trash talking between candidates, the onslaught of pointless four second misinterpreted sound-bites, or even the wave of uneducated voters that have popped up more recently in the electorate. No, the thing I have a problem with is the irreverence everyone seems to have when they decide to go shit-talking AMERICA.

I’m sure if you are a staunch party voter in either the Republican or Democratic voter pool, you are waiting for me to start pointing the finger at the other party like you probably would…but I’m not going to do that. I’m pointing my finger at all of you people that decided to put your political affiliation over your dedication to this country as a citizen. Apparently, a lot of you have forgotten you’re an AMERICAN first and a party voter second. If you have no idea what I am talking about, let me enlighten you.

Democrats, I guess I didn’t think much of your Occupy Wall Street movement at first, and I guess that was somewhat foolish of me. You are absolutely right; OWS has gotten me to really think about a lot of things I had never really considered. One of those things would have to be the degree of disrespect shown by the trendy left when it comes to my country. People ditching work to go protest people working their asses off in a market that is going down the shitter is the opposite of what is going to make this country better. How easy it is to make broad generalizations about how the “system” is broken and needs to be “changed” without offering any semblance of a solution. You honestly think America is broken? Take that sentiment home to your house in Queens that you somehow have managed to afford despite the fact you have taken a day off work to complain about how awful this country has become. Never mind that our poorest people live like kings compared to the poorest in other countries. America is BROKEN. You’re right; the country that provides you the rights to tell it how awful it is to its face and offers you the protection to do so via its constitution is broken. Have fun complaining about the market while you do nothing on the side of the road to fix it.

Republicans, you aren’t getting off easy here either. I know some of you are really pissed off about Obama and the job he is doing. You have every right to, just like the Occupiers have every right to be ungrateful, useless little shits. But livid is not even an appropriate amount of angry to describe how I feel when I hear remarks about how some of you wish Obama was no longer president. I don’t mean removal by losing an election; I mean people honestly wish the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA would be assassinated. Think about that. Regardless of what party you support, or what convictions you have; if you live in America, the president is YOUR president. I don’t care how much you disagree with him, how little you like his policies, or how fucking blatantly racist you pretend to be to convince people you’re a real southerner (which is pathetic). If you wish ill will on the face of our nation, how dare you call yourself a patriot. Does no one remember the national tragedy that was JFK’s assassination? It was a terrible and traumatizing day for Democrats and Republicans. Democrats weren’t upset that a Democratic president was assassinated; they were upset an AMERICAN president was assassinated. Republicans weren’t rejoicing; they were mourning the fact that our commander in chief had been taken from us. So, explain to me how wishing death upon the leader of our nation is supposed to make you seem more American again.

The point I’m trying to make is that we are American first, above and beyond anything else. We are allowed to disagree on our political views. It’s actually encouraged. But it should never make you disrespect the country that you live in and call home. To hear people say that my country is broken, and that my president should be assassinated, makes my red, white, and blue blood boil something hot. MY country is not broken, and regardless of how I register, the president will always be MY president as long as I am an American. The problem here isn’t this beautiful place that gives us so much. The problem is the spoiled people who take so much for granted, on both sides.

  1. Jerry Fratdusky

I used to be mad when people bashed our president too, until the last one came in. There’s nothing wrong about wishing death on a communist who advocates reverse racism and promotes leaders like Al Sharpton and Touré.

^^ Jerry you are right. That’s like saying it would’ve been bad for a German to assassinate hitler just because he was the “leader”. Not to compare hitler to Obama. But if Obama was assassinated you’d get someone that cannot complete a sentence, Joe Biden. Mitt Romney 2012. Let’s send this Marxist back to Africa where hopefully a wild lion will assassinate him.

Just to clarify, where in the increase from a 36-39% tax rate is the treason? Is 37% okay, but 38% treasonous?

Though, I gotta say it was pretty treasonous when he authorized the Seal 6 raid that killed OBL. And let’s not forget the treason that this secret Muslim who goes to an anti-American Christian Church has committed by pushing an atheistic, secular-progressive agenda. And who can forget how he is conspiring to bring down the American government, while simultaneously he is so incompetent that he hasn’t accomplished a single thing since he got into office. Treason!

It’s people like you guys who are causing a ton of people to leave the GOP out of embarrassment.

JParks, I respect what you’re saying, but raising taxes on the group of people that invest and innovate won’t help anything. Government spending is the problem. And my problems are more with his socialist ideology and his promotions of reverse racism. There’s no need for a president to bait young hippies to vote for him by promising college loan repayments and shit. Back when America was great and the undisputed power people would either save up money for college by working full time or serve their country and get the GI Bill. Now we have a bunch of idiots with liberal arts degrees in “opinion-making” that feel entitled to great jobs, and they are now seeking wealth re-distribution and government handouts. The problem with socialism and wealth re-distribution is what happens when you run out of other peoples money to handout? That’s the problems that Greece, Spain, and other countries are now facing. People don’t sacrifice in this country anymore, and all liberals do is covet and want what hardworking conservative people have. If you’re supporting him this fervently you must be a New Black Panther, because he’s a racist fuck.

No, I get where you’re coming from, man, and like I’ve said on here a few times, I’m no Democrat…I’m pulling for a Paul Ryan ticket next election. I just don’t see how returning tax rates to what they were under the Clinton years is somehow socialist in the sense that word is used in political rhetoric. Misguided, sure, but people use that kind of language to play on people’s emotions, rather than describe what’s really going on.

by the way, its always been the rich that traditionally go to college. Theres never been a time when the majority of people going to college, were there because they had “saved up for it.” Sure, there was people who had taken out loans and were the first in their family to go to college, but the ratio of the rich and the poor going to college, isn’t that different in todays world- and people have always been getting liberal arts degrees? I honestly don’t think its the people getting liberal arts degrees that are ruining this County. Its the destruction of the middle class.

And obviously trickle down doesn’t work, because none of these lazy liberal fucks want to work for jobs that they deem “beneath them”. They feel entitled to better jobs so they don’t get them, and then complain that they don’t have equal opportunities and in turn ask for help from the government and the wealthy. Being entitled and knowing how to control your power for economic growth is FaF. After all, the families that we come from are the ones that pay the lobbyists to sway the politicians. America’s blood is on our hands for doing such a shitty job. If we really wanted to fix America, we have to do a better job at making the puppets dance.
On another note, Obama is clearly a racist. His autobiography is riddled with indicators and red flags that nobody gave two shits worth of inquiry. Anybody that says otherwise needs to read his autobiography and take a hard look in the mirror. He has been apologetic to the world and submissive since he took office. His interest in petty affairs is extremely unpresidential and his general lack of respect for the position is infuriating to say the least. He is a sensationalist demonizer and is great at pushing the buttons of conservatives and republicans alike. However He is everything America needed. Now that we’re awake, it’s time to be the leaders that future generations look back at and say “I remember the good ol’ days when my dad fixed problems like a man, instead of pointing fingers and crying like a bitch.” It’s better to be full of solutions instead of excuses and bullshit.

^^^While I completely agree, the other major alternative is no better. The establishment Republican Party is nothing but a bunch of blow-hard baby boomers who have always gotten their way because their parents earned it for them on the battlefields of WWII. They are a generation of Republicans whose ideology is based primarily on fear – fear of communism, terrorism, or whatever -ism they want to come up with next.

As a new breed of American, I can safely say that I cannot and will not make decisions based on fear and fear alone. I will make political decisions solely on the basis of principle – I cannot in good conscience give my tax money or support to either the socialist circle that holds power at present, or the military-industrial circle that seeks to gain it again. Fear is the mechanism by which the weak make their decisions. Honor is the mechanism of the strong.

However, don’t get me wrong when it comes to the military – I believe America should have the largest, best-trained, and most technologically sophisticated military in the entire world, and I have immense respect for the honorable men and women comprising our armed forces. That being said, I believe Teddy Roosevelt hit the nail on the head when it comes to general military strategy. We ought to speak softly and carry the biggest fucking stick history has ever seen.

America is built on freedom. Freedom to do as you please provided you don’t fuck it up for someone else, and freedom to deal with other men in the fairest of arenas – with no one stepping in to prop up either side. It is this principle – liberty – which above all else has caused American success. In a society where liberty is king, he who is best wins. He who is right is acknowledged as such. Asses are kicked, not kissed.

American exceptionalism springs from the fact that we do things differently than every other society has in the past. Instead of organizing our society based on courting favor and leveraging religious dogma to brainwash the masses, we based our society on liberty, which enables all effort and invariably leads to success. We Americans value results over rhetoric. We value risk-taking over pussyfooting. We value objective proof and justice over speculation and hearsay. In fact, our Founding Fathers valued our liberty so much that they sacrificed all they had simply for the chance to give their descendants the opportunity to live truly free lives. In recent years, we’ve pissed our own liberty away. We’ve stupidly plunged ourselves into “global this” and “global that.” Fuck the rest of the world. We’re America, and our strength comes from here and here alone.

We became better than the rest of the world because we emphasized what makes us great, and it’s about damn time we looked at the actions of our Founders and truly understood why they did what they did. It’s time for us to drop the even remotely socialisty shit, and time for us to drop our fear of the rest of the world as well. If we stop meddling in other countries’ business and get our own shit together, there will be no one left in the world asinine enough to lay a finger on us. We must regain our position as moral leader of the world – no matter how big our material military advantage is, it will shrink without a reason for existence.

Remember – it is not the size of an army which causes a man to cross the frozen Delaware and kill Brits on Christmas. It is the principle underlying his mission which is the true source of American grit and pride.

12 years ago at 11:37 am
    6. Reagan_is_my_hero

Ok, “GotEm,” let’s be reminded how our government works here for a second. Yes Congress writes laws. However, the President through his executive authority is the one who enforces those laws. Quite often instead of writing an extensively complex law, Congress will authorize one of the executive branch departments to administer a law within certain guidelines and in turn maintain an oversight capacity. In this circumstance, Congress had authorized the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer programs to provide for “fair housing” in the United States pursuant to 42 USC § 3601. Congress gave broad authority to the HUD Secretary to administer this law – which it quite often does (in my mind, congress shouldn’t cede such broad authority, but that’s a different conversation). It is important to remember, however, that HUD was founded by Pres. Johnson as a part of his “great society” program (which failed miserably as with all Democrat policy positions) when he had a Democrat-led House and Senate. The HUD Secretary’s authority had not been changed since then. The Secretary (whom is appointed by the President and serves at his pleasure and direction – in this case Pres. Clinton) was the one who relaxed the lending requirements and lead to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, not the Republican Congress at the time. Sorry you didn’t “get us” buddy…but nice try though.
