Elton John Sucks at Soccer?

Last week the photo below was posted on TFM in the Photo section. Apparently, a fraternity thought it would be funny to display a banner stating that “Obama is a GDI” during a campus visit from our Commander in Chief. I have to agree, it is pretty funny.

Today, a photo surfaced of a response from some GDI who didn’t find the banner as hilarious as I did.

Distasteful? How so? The members of the fraternity that made this sign were simply stating a fact: “Obama is a GDI.” That isn’t an opinion. Obama isn’t a fraternity man therefore he is a GDI. Nobody said anything about prerequisites for being the leader of the free world. I can only assume the sign they will create to greet Elton John will read: “Elton John is gay.” Again, this would be stating a matter of fact. If you said, “Mr. John what is your sexual orientation?” he would respond, “Elton John is gay.” Everyone knows Elton John is gay and only refers to himself in the third person. Furthermore, everyone knows it is tradition for all fraternities across the country to display banners with random, nonbiased facts about campus visitors to help inform the general public. We are just trying to educate America.

Thank you so much for spreading awareness that Obama doesn’t receive financial compensation for being a “bro.” Nobody is paid to be “bro,” because that doesn’t mean anything. There is no distinct characteristic that makes someone “bro.” I don’t care who you are, nobody is going to pay you for being an average American male and possessing the ability to “chill.”

In closing, Elton John is the gay Pelé.

    Politics aside, everyone knows college university newspapers are NF as fuck and should be disregarded at all costs.

    From my experience, university newspapers are extremely anti-Greek and love to jump on any story like any young-and-aspiring liberal journalist. This is especially so when the story involves anything that could be portrayed as “negative” from the Greek community, like a simple poster that displays a fact and gives a couple bros some good laughs.

    Just because something is legal, doesn’t make it tasteful. Whether or not you support the man’s politics is unimportant. Even if you don’t, The President should always be given the respect he deserves as our Commander in Chief.

      He is just recieving the same amount of respect president Bush received throughout his 8 years as commander in chief. Liberals are now getting pissed because Obama is failing as president and people are now saying so. God forbid something negative be said about their messiah.

    Elton John is actually fantastic at soccer. He managed a club for several years and brought one of the crappiest teams up to a respectable seed in the brackets. Just sayin.

    I’m sure I’ll receive plenty of grief for posting this, but feel that it must be said. While I, in no way, consider myself an Obama supporter, he is the President of our country and our Commander in Chief. Whether you like him or not, he deserves to be treated with the upmost respect at all times, just as George Bush did. While I understand that liberals did not give him this respect, their is no reason for a fraternity to stoop to the level of liberals.
    I understand that Obama wasn’t in a fraternity, therefore technically is a GDI, that term is used negatively in every single way, so saying they are just pointing out an honest fact is a poor cover-up. This was meant to be an insult in every sense, and the fact that a group of college kids would show this level of disrespect shows how much of a joke the Sigma Nu chapter at PSU must really be.
    Call me a liberal (I am not), call be a GDI (I am not), but understand that I am first and foremost an American, and in being one feel that our President deserves a lot more respect than this, whether you agree with his policies or not.

      I’m all for America as any true Bro which is why the fact he can’t prove he is American with a birth certificate worries me. Especially when he kisses the feet of the Islamic radicals who want to kill you and I.
