ESPN Promoted “College Gameday” At South Carolina But Fucked It Up By Using Clemson Photo

Oof. The “College Gameday” marketers fucked up big time this week, putting a picture of Tillman Hall at Clemson University as the backdrop for an ad promoting this week’s show at the University of South Carolina.

In case you live under a rock or in the Northeast, South Carolina and Clemson get along as well as Israel and Palestine. Some rivalries are friendly, and there is mutual respect among fan bases. This is not one of them. Few rivalries spew as much hatred as the annual Palmetto Bowl.

Can you imagine a “Gameday” ad featuring the University of Texas’s tower promoting a football game at Texas A&M? How about a Canadian flag as the background of an ad featuring “The Star-Spangled Banner”? That’s a messed up world I wouldn’t want to live in.

USC was the stock background last year. Screen shots of the Horseshoe and a giant Gamecock flag advertising the Clemson FSU game and an Oregon game last year floating around.
