Everything You Missed While Drinking Your Ass Off At Tailgate: College Football Week 14 Recap

Week 14

Texas is probably going bowling at 5-7

Pounding the rock and playing good defense! That’s Charlie Strong football! It helps that Baylor was down to their fourth string quarterback, but whatever. A win is a win is a win. Now the Longhorns are most likely going to a bowl game at 5-7 due to the majority of college football being dogshit this year.

We also had ourselves a good ol’ fashion football brawl. By brawl, I mean a bunch of dudes running on the field and a few nudging each other.

With the exception of redshirt freshman Jermaine Roberts Jr. who was ready to drop some fools.

Anyone else just need Briles and Gary Patterson to drop the gloves when TCU comes into Waco next year? It’s long overdue.

Nothing will ever top the Miami-FIU fight, though.

G.O.A.T.

Storm Houston’s field at your own risk

Just give Christian McCaffrey the damn Heisman.

Florida’s defense and special teams can’t score enough points to knock off Alabama.

It’s painful to see Saban fake happiness.

Poor Iowa

Refs prevent a potential overtime classic in the Clemson-UNC game.

Forget that the dude murdered the Clemson returner. I wanted this game to go on forever.

Final Four

2. Alabama
3. Michigan State
4. Oklahoma

Dan’s no thought predictions

There are too many bowls no one watches and not enough winning teams to fill them all. Hence the need to slot in the dogshit teams

The Big 10 has been better than SEC since OSU best Bama and Wisconsin beat Auburn last year. MSU over Bama

Pretty sure a strong running game that can eat 9 minutes on one drive counts. Connor cook wasn’t healthy obviously, he will be in a month.

Defense does win championships. That’s why Alabama will win the championship.

If I had to watch someone rush 67 times I would blow my brains out. I don’t know how people can watch an entire SEC game. Hell, watching the big10 championship squads score a whopping 29 points made me want to beat my wife.

That’s what Bama is. One dimensional. If you make Jake Coker throw more by loading the box to combat the rushing attack, you’ll have a chance, as long as your corners don’t stick their head in thier ass like VHIII did on that bomb to Ridley that was floated up there like a hail mary. Bama is not ranked in the top 50 in total offense and I know they don’t play BigXII defenses week in and week out, but believe it or not, the best SEC defenses they played this year was LSU(25) and A&M(42) so when your offense doesn’t rank in the top 50 with that considered, it’s not that great. Bama just shuts people down on D, controls the clock, and wears you down late in the game, which is fair. Bama lucked out by drawing Michigan St. instead of Oklahoma because the tempo and big play potential from Oklahoma could cause them problems. I think it’s complete bullshit. Oklahoma is a better football team than Michigan St and everyone knows it. It’s doesn’t fit the narrative though. Saban vs his old team and his predecessor, Dantonio, and a bowl game rematch from last year with OU and Clemson. Perfect fit, right? Plus, everybody who follows CFB knows full well Bama matches up MUCH better against MSU and the committee needs Bama in the title game for ratings.

I agree with your overall point, but LSU and A&M are definitely not the top ranked defenses bama has played. Florida and Georgia are 6 and 8, and bama went through Georgia like a knife through butter. Florida gave them a tougher time, but in the end, bama’s offense was able to wear down florida’s defense enough to start putting points up.

And Wisconsin has a highly ranked defense. I meant the SEC West in particular. But yeah, the better defenses they played this year all had atrocious, one dimensional offenses. Wisconsin, LSU, and Georgia are all ground attacks. They can’t beat Alabama at Alabama’s game. Florida has zero offense altogether. My whole point is, and yes the homer-ism is there, but I believe Clemson has earned the right to play the worst team in the playoffs and that is Michigan State. Michigan State’s win over Michigan turned out to not be that great of a win, Michigan is average. They beat Ohio St and Iowa who were highly ranked, but had ZERO resume. Conference champ over everything? Bullshit. Anyone who watched Oklahoma play Baylor, TCU, and OKSt in consecutive weeks knows that that team is electric and hard to game plan for. The committee can use whatever bs analytics they think matter, but vegas is smarter than they are and Oklahoma would be a touchdown favorite vs Michigan St. But god forbid Bama gets knocked out in the first round again, right?

Almost losing to a TCU team without their two best players, among several other starters is not electrifying. Beating a beat up Baylor team and an Okie st team that was thoroughly exposed when their schedule got real is not electrifying. Those are decent wins, but none of those teams are what we thought they were (okie) or what they were before injuries decimated them (tcu, baylor). The fact you and everyone else seems to be overlooking is that Oklahoma hasn’t played a single well rounded team. They have not dealt with a team like State or Bama that dominates both trenches, wears teams down, and controls the ball. Mayfield can’t score from the bench and he has seen nothing like State or Bama’s front 7. Have you even watched State play? The luckiest thing for Oklahoma was drawing Clemson, a team that is not unbeatable and much more like a Big 12 team. Sparty would have loved to play Clemson first then preferably Oklahoma.

Yea ok buddy EVERYONE knows Oklahoma is a better team than Sparty. The evidence is clear. They haven’t played a real defense all year, barely beat a TCU team that was playing walk-ons at that point, beat a Baylor team on their third string qb and in a major down spiral, then Okie st who looked great until they played real teams. That spells unstoppable to me.

Really? Nothing about that retarded punter from Clemson trying to make a 20 yard run without telling anyone.
