Rushee asked if we have a payment plan for dues. No Bid. TFM.

Some may praise his elitism…but this is America, not Great Britain. This shit doesn’t fly.

I come from a wealthy family, and my parents weren’t too happy about dishing out the money for dues. I had to work at the family business in order to frat. People like you give all of us a bad name. Go fuck yourself.

Agreed. I come from the same type of family and my parents have set guidelines that I have to meet in order for them to pay my dues. Nothing wrong with having money, but I’d rather work for something than have it just handed to me.

I actually have, Southern Breau, but it feels a lot better to earn something.

Since when did being in a fraternity have anything to do with coming from money? I hate that aspect of this site. Gives us such a bad rap. It’s about brotherhood and leadership, not your bank account.

Until recently going to college in general had everything to do with coming from money. So I would say that being in a fraternity has always had something to do with coming from money.

      Us?…….
It’s not an aspect of the site; it is the site.
You sound like a GDI. If your fraternity actually is frat with your saying this, you need to be hazed.

For half a century going to college has had almost nothing to do with money, and considering the most popular fraternities are between 100-175 years old, it’s a pretty big chunk of time we’ve had to adjust from archaic monetary classism. It still exists but it is not at all an ethical reason in today’s society to judge one’s membership status.

Andrew Carnegie, rags to riches, pretty sure he was non-affiliated, but he’s more frat than this geed will ever be. People can very easily come from little and make a lot in this country. This site is full of patriots, or so they say they are, so why not support the American Dream? Especially when it’s achieved through the traditions of your Fraternity.

Having money is sweet, I know this, but not having money is not a reflection of one’s character. On the other hand, being handed everything on a silver platter and using it to put others (who actually have to work for it) down is pretty damn reflective of one’s character. If I knew nothing else about you but this I’d probably know enough to know i didn’t want to give you the time of day, much less a job.

Phratter, I could not have said it better myself. I agree with everything you said. You my friend, are a true fraternity man.

This is where this site gives us a bad name. This is why fraternity membership is down across the US. This is why parents and alumni won’t support the idea of Greek Life. Thanks for making us work that much harder to restore our image.

You didnt do that. You’re the kind of guy that sits in the back of meetings and doesn’t say shit and proves his “frattiness” on a fucking website.

I was just hired at the family business instead of the mans son. Why? Because he knew my hard work would take his company to the future instead of his sons lazy attitude. So if this was you I stole that job from, thanks!
