Former LSU Acacia Pledge Details Hazing Experience After Chapter Indefinitely Suspended
We almost made it a week. It has been six days since we last reported on a fraternity being removed from campus. Last week, Pi Kappa Phi at NC State was suspended after restaurant employees discovered a pledge book full of offensive content. I genuinely believed we’d reach a full week without watching another chapter disappear from its respective campus, but it appears as if LSU’s Acacia chapter isn’t going to let us reach that milestone.
On Tuesday, it was reported that the chapter was “indefinitely suspended” following claims of behavioral misconduct. As the university investigates the chapter, a YouTube video detailing the alleged hazing was posted on the website of LSU’s school newspaper, The Daily Reveille.
The former Acacia pledge discusses his Hell Week experience that included eating dog food, excessive smoking, and forced exercises.
The former pledge who reporting the hazing claims that he did so to protect others, but he has paid the price for his reports.
From LSU Reveille:
In December he wrote an email detailing his experiences to the Associate Director of Greek Life, Jonathan Sanders
He says his main motive in writing the email is to warn other students about the pledge process.
Since the email, he has received several threats on social media and his car was vandalized. Police are currently investigating the damages to his car, but he believes Acacia members acted out in retaliation.
The national organization has not yet commented on the allegations..
The national organization has finally commented on the allegations. They decided to officially remove Acacia off of campus.
The Acacia national office released a statement today announcing the closure of the University chapter after reported violations of the fraternity’s standards and policies related to the treatment of its members.

fuck that kid man
11 years ago at 9:41 amGreek life as we know it is changing before our eyes, a few bad chapters doesn’t define greek life as a whole, but it’s shit like this that allows the media to portray it as a terrible thing.
11 years ago at 9:42 amWhat kind of sick fuckers make someone sit fully clothed in what is basically a stream room for 4 hours? When people haze correctly it is harmless and can be funny (clean the house, get me food, stupid shit like that), but people need to know where to draw the line before someone gets seriously hurt.
11 years ago at 9:43 amblack spring for greek life continues
11 years ago at 9:44 amIf you didn’t pass out or throw up multiple times, did you really even pledge? Their chapter should be suspended but not for hazing allegations, for giving bids to some pussies
11 years ago at 9:45 amCan we all agree not to fuck up for one week? That’s all I’m asking for.
11 years ago at 9:46 amI like to look at this as the natural selection of greeklife. The dumb perish, while the smart prosper.
11 years ago at 9:47 amHazing is a way of pledging. It’s character building and brings the pledge class closer together. Every person who is rushing should know what they’re getting into if they accept a bid.
That being said, you can’t fucking force them to eat cat and dog food. And after they throw up, they have to eat that too. These kids are pretty much the scum of this earth for that. This is why people always bash Greek Life. For the small 2% of chapters that are stupid enough to do shit like this make the rest of us 98% hated.
Kick them off, suspend them, and throw away the key.
11 years ago at 9:59 amAs long as no bodily harm is involved or can possibly occur, hazing betters the individual and makes them a stronger person both physically and mentally.
11 years ago at 10:00 amThe hazing was hardcore, that’s undeniable. But if you don’t like it, just drop and don’t look back. It’s your choice whether you want to participate or not and no one will stop you. Don’t fuck over your entire pledge class, every active, and every alumni to ever walk through those doors, and the years of brotherhood that has been forged in that house, just because you’re not down with whats going on. That kid may have fucked over Acacia, but he probably fucked over himself even more. It won’t take long for his name to get let out, if it hasn’t be already. Snitches get stitches.
11 years ago at 10:03 amI agree that if you can’t handle it, drop. However, when it comes to the health of pledges, I wouldn’t want to put them in a position that forces them to eat shit or puke. That’s just dumb. I never had to do anything like that. I won’t go into detail, but I did a hell of a lot of PT and didn’t get a lot of sleep. Elephant walks, eating vomit and drinking dip spit is about the dumbest thing actives can force pledges to do.
11 years ago at 1:16 pmI think there is a certain point when I hope the pledge refuses. builds his dignity up.
11 years ago at 2:33 pmPeople obviously know who it is if his car was vandalised. Ha Pikes…
