The douche bags at 1:40 epitomize how fucking retarded this video is. That guy’s jaw is bigger than Mr. Bottomtooth from Family Guy. And the other guy obviously can’t afford a personal trainer since his arms are so disproportionate to his body, which actually makes sense seeing as he puts those arms to good work with all of the slampieces that he’s not slamming. Fuck Texas, all you’re good for is letting ****** into this beautiful country of mine.
We’ve obviously got a history major here. Georgia has always been one of the foundation states of the South bro. South Carolina would be the state you’re thinking of. Finish up your technical degree before you step in the ring with the big boys.
1. How am i supposed to know you’re from Georgia?
2. Don’t call me bro…that’s weird
3. I don’t know why i would be thinking of S. Carolina…besides a possible destination this summer.
4. Def. NOT getting anything close to a tech degree, ew.
5. You can’t really call yourself a “big boy” when you’re acting like a child
6. All i’m trying to say is don’t insult Texas. We all know Texas is amazing, also, it’s part of the U.S.A just like every other state. Insult Texas=Insulting America. & anyone that insults America can just go die……and have a watery grave;) (had to throw that in there)
7. Don’t act like this video isn’t awesome, if you’re bored instead of insulting things on TFM, go hit some golf balls, haze a pledge, or whatever else you do…
Glory Glory, if your referring to the word beaners, stop being a pussy and just say it. Also don’t blame it on a “pledge” we all know that you were the one that typed that.
Hahahaha, seriously? This was fucking stupid… trying to run around in the image of mobsters, yet few of the guys in this video look like they could ever handle themselves in a fight. They just come of as conceited douchebags that few people would ever want to be around. You guys are trying way to hard to be cool. And then sucking at it.
What most of the people on this site fail to realize is that although fraternity life is fucking awesome, it comes to an end. Sure you can still rage during gamedays/ have a hell of the time on the weekends; however, when you graduate, you have to get a real job. No one is going to come make you some sort of kingpin or ruler of an underworld as this video suggests…
Geed, if you really where in a frat you’d understand how deep its connections can go, yeah granted this video is a little over the top, but when you say that this ends at graduation you obviously must have joined some local frat or shitty interest group if at all, cause I could piss on my resume when I graduate and still get a 6 figure job thanks to my bros… so yes geed! It is like the mafia!
Bribed our way into intramural playoffs to make sure the tie breaker coin flip went our way. Took the greek affairs director to a strip club to discuss how my chapter doesn’t need serious sanctions after getting busted. That’s life. Nothing wrong with that.
friendsinbroplaces, i feel like you’re not in a fraternity? …maybe not even college…either way i pity you for not having a lavish lifestyle, it’s pretty awesome. This video is pretty spot on, i don’t know what you’re crying about? If you’re that offended go back to working at the bar with your “friends in low places.” Sucks to Suck.
Most of us don’t need to handle ourselves in a fight. Concealed carry is legal in every state that matters. And I don’t think this video is suggesting that as soon as we graduate we will rule the world. These are all college kids. While were in college, we’re the kings. That’s about it, so get off your high horse and go learn what fraternity life means.
You are trying entirely too hard. The fact that you continually feel the need to defend yourself to others in this “Comments” section only further emphasizes your insecurity.
“If being FaF enough to make a FaF video for TFM is NF, then sure- we’re NF. But my suspicions lead me to think otherwise.”
“I suppose you’re basing this on your experience producing TFM videos, right?”
The above quotes were written in response to criticisms of the video. I don’t know about you, Mr. Fratterson, but that certainly sounds defensive to me. I’m not sure where your alleged “marketing” comes in here.
I had thought it obvious that my username (which is a true statement) was a mockery of the typical Greek-themed names on this website. But perhaps I assumed too much in your case.
I am questionable of those who purport to be “fratstars” that create an elaborate video depicting them as “fratstars” for a website where people talk about how they are such “fratstars.” Real fratstars would just live their fucking life.
Nice rebuttal. You said literally nothing about the issue at hand, besides “your post still blows.” I never questioned your username. I can only assume that you go to A&M, because you sound fucking retarded.
You two are acting like the bunch of liberal gdi’s I got into an argument with a few days ago. Shut the hell up and quit going on about each others user names. Take the video as a joke like it is meant, and quit worrying about it
We learned early on once your viewcount gets to the thousands and your audience is as passionate as something like TFM, no pleasing everyone. The best we can do is offer the most FaF material and production possible, and let the content speak for itself. If people have technical or clarical questions, or want to remark on the production time, we feel there’s nothing wrong with responding to that. In fact, it’s this sort of two-way discussion that made the rap artists of “Life’s A Bitch” feel good about the reception and give us permission to put their track on the internet free for everyone here to enjoy outside of the video.
The comments aren’t defensive. They’re snide. All the more reason to enjoy Atomic and their work with this site. Take a lesson from Robert E. Lee and fight the battles you can win. Attacking Atomic on a successful video and their welcome interaction with the TFM community is poor form. If it wasn’t obvious, this website was never meant to be taken completely seriously. It’s not supposed to be a ‘fratstar’ instruction manual. As you stated, those who frat would do it with or without this site, (duh?), and so those who use it are clearly here for the entertainment value. Atomic is a video production operation, and I highly doubt that because they made one video about being ‘fratty’ that we should immediately assume they always try to be ‘fratstars’. That would be like saying because Paramount Pictures made the movie The Italian Job, they all must drive Mini Coopers and plan heists in their spare time. It’s a video. It’s for entertainment. It’s not a mission statement. We get the joke, you don’t. Please quit taking this, (and yourself), so seriously.
@I am in a fraternity. I think if you spent this much time effort and money on a project you would be defensive of your product and try to refute the criticism of it,
Quick question, and hopefully Atomic can get around to answering it. Why does the production quality suffer significantly during the closing monologue?
If by production quality you’re talking about audio fidelity, it’s because there we are using on-set audio, and not ADRing (advanced-dialogue-replacing) the words. Through the bulk of the shoot, the narration is being played from a studio-recorded session where we went through multiple takes and whatnot. Whereas in the closing monologue, there’s not just a focus on the voice and quality, but the actual physical acting, lighting, and that everything goes together naturally. The move from studio voice to on-set voice is always jarring, but we tried to record it still in a way that was somewhat more smoothed over.
Additionally, this is a transition you see common to the ending of Goodfellas- where there’s a switch from studio audio to that which is recorded on set.
Though if you’re referring to the overall setting or production design, all I can say is that we tried to retain the same measure of quality, visually, throughout the entire thing.
Gotcha. It seemed like the video quality was off too, but that may have just been the lighting because when I look at stills of the ending it appears fine. Thanks for the explanation, and keep up the good work.
The ending is shot with a different lens than some of the other scenes, but it’s actually a better/sharper lens, and the camera/resolution should all be the same. The lighting is stylized, though, so that might be it. Thanks for watching!
Didn’t notice your previous reply with the Goodfellas link. I see how, regardless of effectiveness, it is extremely consistent with how it worked in the film, so I apologize for insinuating that it was a fault. The ending shot also included far fewer transitions, so I suppose it must have been the culmination of all the little changes in production that led me to that conclusion. Thanks again, and I’ll keep watching as long as these keep being made. (As I’m sure that’s the case for a large majority of this site.)
To atomic and Bid.. I think what they did was use a lense that had a lower irs/sperture but shot it at the same just casue it makes it faster that way but thats on video as for audio, i know what you are talking about atomic and i do love the video in general but id does sound as if prod used the camera’s mic instead of an external or at least a second line to a fish pole.. not saying it was wrongly done your way, simply saying i would have had a boom operator for a closer feed to the audio.. and that way it woulds till sound set recorded vs in studio… Great work other than that Atomic, eager to see more from you guys!
Hey FrataChi- you’re definitely right, and the audio spacing and fidelity wasn’t AS ideal as we wanted it on the shot we chose, but the performance on that take felt the most genuine, and that was more important to us to retain. The whole sequence was boomed with a Rode NT-G2 and recorded separately with a Zoom H4N audio recorder, but the nature of the lofted space gave off an oddly hollow(er) sound inherently. Overall, we still think it works really well, and we’re glad we used what we did- but we definitely understand the issue and appreciate your advice.
