Friendly Hacker Matches Straight Guys On Tinder, It Gets Weird
I’ve always said nerds are the most dangerous people on the planet. As technology advances, so, too, does the nerd’s long dick of the tech law. Make the wrong one mad, I imagine he could drain your bank account, blast your DPs all over the web, and send phony emails to your girlfriend’s mom about how you wanna get up in it. They’re running the show. Respect them.
Of course, you also have your cool, friendly types, like the one in this story. A California-based hacker recently took advantage of Tinder’s notoriously vulnerable security measures and matched unknowing heterosexual males with each other. What they saw instead of their matched brethren, however, were dummy female accounts.
From Tech Crunch:
But the Verge reports that a hacker recently set up a program that would use female dummy accounts to put heterosexual men into conversations with each other. Using Tinder’s API, the programmer was able to channel messages from one unknowing man to another, with both parties in the conversation believing instead that they were talking to a woman.
What ensued is… perfect.
Below is one example. This is one of the tamer ones, unfortunately.

i’m not sure whether this falls under “humdrum” or “tedious,” but in either case, i am not amused.

11 years ago at 11:39 pmThis is not “taking advantage” of security vulnerabilities- it’s just relaying messages
