FSU QB Jameis Winston Will NOT Be Charged With Sexual Assault
Somewhere in America, Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods are having a champagne toast. Almost a year to the day that the initial police report was filed, State Attorney Wille Meggs has announced Florida State University redshirt freshmen quarterback Jameis Winston will not be charged for sexual assault.
“We’ve carefully examined all the evidence in this case and have concluded that no charges will be filed against anyone in this case,” Meggs said.”We have a duty as prosecutors to determine if each case has a reasonable likelihood of conviction. After reviewing the facts in this case, we do not feel that we can reach those burdens.”
Holy. Titballs. Batman.
An FSU female student reported to the Tallahassee Police Department in December 2012 that she was sexually assaulted, identifying Winston as her assailant (a month after the initial report). Tallahassee police have been under extreme criticism, from the on-again, off-again investigations, to claims that the department even covered up a rape. State police took over the investigation about three weeks ago, finding DNA samples that showed the accuser had contact with two males that evening, one being Winston. Winston claimed that it was consensual, the woman says she had proof otherwise. However, there is not enough evidence to bring this case to court, and Winston is free.
It’s worth mentioning that voting for the Heisman trophy ends December 9th, a mere four days away from today. Winston is favored to win the award, being the first Seminole to take home the trophy since Chris Weinke. Also, as I’m SURE I do not need to mention, Winston has been the key to FSU’s success, being the reason they are undefeated as well as ranked No. 1 in the country. Had Winston been charged with these allegations, he would have been benched in this weekend’s ACC Championship, putting Florida State’s BCS National Championship in jeopardy. In the statement presented today, Meggs noted that the announcement had nothing to do with the Seminole’s postseason hopes or Heisman voting. He also made clear that the case was handled the same as all cases of that nature are, not giving any mind to the fact that the suspect was a successful quarterback.
Look, I’m not saying the police dropped the ball, or that the statement could not come at a better time for young Winston. Y’all can fight it out and think what you want, all I know is that I cannot WAIT for Law & Order: SVU to base an episode of this debacle.

Another Duke Lacrosse debacle avoided. Let’s get back to football.

12 years ago at 4:53 pmExcept this didn’t even go to trial. There wasn’t enough evidence for the guy to even be *charged*

12 years ago at 5:16 pm^^Yes, that is what we would call a whore
12 years ago at 6:32 pm^^ It all makes sense now. So basically she had a boyfriend and was down and dirty. Later that night after a few drinks she saw the up and coming quarterback and saw the chance to hop on it before he got big. Then, it turns out that ol’ Jamis just wanted to get it in and was in no way down to bring a girl with him to the lime light (we all know how that’s a bad idea via Craig Shilo). Then, her boy friend, who has a lot of money, found out and confronted her to which point her only response to get her out of the situation was to cry rape. Thus began the investigation to which brings us to the conclusion that Mr. Winston did it in the bar bathroom, with his weiner and I am damn good at clue.
12 years ago at 6:36 pmP.S. that was too long to grammar check. But it still stands, I used to hustle people over board games. No shame.
12 years ago at 6:38 pmWill Ferrell’s ESPN appearance was cancelled because of the stupid report. He would have been so much better, just imagine him as he ends the reports with, “Stay Classy, Tallahassee”
12 years ago at 5:02 pmWhy is this on TSM? Who let a woman write about football?
12 years ago at 5:57 pmThe story started getting fishy when this girl blew a .04 2 hours after the alleged incident and then claimed to police she was blackout drunk.
12 years ago at 8:17 pm0.10 at time of attack is pretty wasted for most 19 yo girls
12 years ago at 12:29 amIt isn’t complete memory loss wasted by a long shot. She never had a coherent story, and that alone would have had her picked apart by a competent lawyer in front of a jury.
12 years ago at 3:53 am^^It’s called blood alcohol PERCENTAGE for a reason, 0.10 BAC for a guy and girl means the same level of intoxication. A .04 is roughly equal to a little more than a beer for most girls. She was at no point close to blackout as most people blackout at 0.18 to 0.20 BAC level.
