FSU Wide Receiver Sees Middle Schooler All By Himself In Cafeteria, Sits Down Next To Him

This might be the feel-good story of the year. After noticing a boy sitting all alone at lunch while on a visit to a local middle school, Florida State Seminoles wide out Travis Rudolph decided to sit down with him and have a little chat. The boy’s mom told the full story on Facebook.

Travis Rudolph is not a household name. The child’s mother had no idea who he was before this happened, and there’s no doubt in my mind her son didn’t either. That’s what makes this story so amazing. Travis Rudolph wasn’t pulling a J.J. Watt here and doing a good deed in order to document it and show all his adoring fans (and haters) how big of a do-gooder he is. No, he just saw a lonely kid whose day he thought might need a little brightening up. Little did he know, a picture would be taken, and he’d brighten up all of our days as well.

Good on you, Travis Rudolph. You’re the best thing to happen regarding FSU football’s PR in years decades.

The impact of this kind of gesture really can’t be overstated. Just the simple notion to a lonely child that he or she is recognized and cared about can have a significant impact for a long time after instance in which it occurs. Sincere respect to Mr. Rudolph for having the awareness and compassion to take time out for a kid who might have needed him. RFM.

For all the awful offseason news from fbs schools…this is a breath of fresh air.

A simple gesture like this means so much to that boy and his parents. Good on you, Mr. Rudolph.

It’s sad how much just giving freshman football player a PR 101 would help:
    beating dogs bad
Being a compassionate human being good

Too few people realize how a gesture so small that costs you so little to you can mean so much to someone else. It’s always good to see that there are still some class acts out there.
