Fyre Festival Organizers Sued For $100 Million

Fyre Festival was a total disaster. Young “influencers” spent thousands of dollars to attend what they expected to be a musical festival in the Bahamas among supermodels, with gourmet meals, beachside villas, and a power musical lineup. What they got instead was the scene of a disaster relief area and total chaos.

And now, Fyre Festival is being sued.

A $100 million proposed class-action lawsuit filed on Sunday accused the Fyre Festival and its organizers of fraud, alleging the music festival’s “lack of adequate food, water, shelter, and medical care created a dangerous and panicked situation among attendees—suddenly finding themselves stranded on a remote island without basic provisions.”

The suit, filed by Daniel Jung on behalf of himself and all festival attendees, claimed the festival, which was promoted as a supermodel-filled luxury concert event, was closer to ““The Hunger Games” or “Lord of the Flies” than Coachella.” It seeks damages “in excess of” $100 million.

It was only a matter of time. You pack an island full of snotty rich kids and treat them like third-world citizens after promises of a hedonistic musical festival surrounded by the hottest models on the planet, you knew a power attorney would be filing a suit soon after. And now, one has, to the tune of 100 milly.

It was a clear money grab attempt that is backfiring in the ugliest, most public way possible. Ja Rule, the face of the event, is taking the brunt of the heat.

This is going to get very ugly..
