George Zimmerman Is Auctioning Off The Gun He Used To Kill Trayvon Martin

George Zimmerman Is About To Make Bank By Auctioning The Gun He Use To Kill Trayvon

Update #1 on Thursday, May 12 at 11:52 a.m.:Several media reports are now saying that the gun listing has been removed and the gun is no longer available for purchase. Gun Broker hasn’t confirmed nor denied that the gun is no longer for purchase. Probably a good idea either way, though.

The George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin controversy takes another weird turn as Zimmerman has decided that he is going to sell the gun he pulled the trigger of and killed Martin with back in 2012. It’s going for a hefty price, too. Bidding starts at $5,000.

From CNBC:

The gun used to kill Trayvon Martin, a young black teenager who was shot in Florida, is being auctioned at a starting bid of $5,000.

George Zimmerman, the man accused of killing Martin in 2012, has listed the Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm on a gun broker website.

“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012,” says Zimmerman, in the description.

It seems as if Zimmerman is capitalizing on an opportunity to make some easy money. I’m not saying the guy is a good dude or anything (because he’s a lunatic), but this gun is going to sell for way more than the initial bid of $5K. This is a piece of history, and some idiot out there is going to shell out big bucks to have it. Simple as that.

I don’t think this is going to end well for Zimmerman when it comes to the whole public reputation thing. His PR stock has already been steadily nose diving for a few years now. If I’m him, I’m taking whatever money I make from this auction and moving as far away from the country as I can, just in case someone buys it with the sole intention of shooting him with it.

Zimmerman is now the benchmark for how justice should work. Justice should be able to find a man innocent if the facts say he is, no matter how deplorable he may be. Society needs to come to terms with this.

I honestly don’t think he is all that innocent, I think he escalated the situation to a point it didn’t need to be. A prosecutor then came in, trying to look like a big shot for a national story and trumped up the charges to 1st degree homicide. The media then fuels the flames eliminating any chance of a more reasonable charge. It really was just a giant clusterfuck of a situation and everyone’s to blame.

Exactly. It obviously wasn’t 1st degree. 1st degree murder rarely occurs from one’s back. Negligent homicide for escalating an incident into needing deadly force was the closest a prosecutor was going to get. Still unlikely to get a conviction there. But 1st degree attempt was just shitty legal work

Jesus, that whole thing happened back in 2012? Feels like it was last year.
