Georgia Girl Wins The Yearbook Quote Of The Year By Cryptically Referencing Juvenile Lyrics

If you’ve been around these parts for a while, you may remember the story where high school senior Jenny Lee constructed her senior yearbook quote with periodic table elements to spell out “Fuck Bitches, Get Money.” Really nerdy, but also really funny.

Another year in the books brings with it another few hopefuls trying to make their marks in legendary high school lore.

Enter Paris Gray, the senior class’s vice president at Mundy Mill High School in Clayton County, Ga. She’s comin’ in real hot.

Translation?

“When the going gets tough, Ba C K Th At As S U P”

You’re absolutely killing it with the Juvenile reference, Paris. Hell of a motto to live by. Like, when there’s nothing else to do, just start backing that ass up. Maybe throw some twerking in there, too, and everything will be alright!

Apparently school officials didn’t think everything was alright, though. Now, a week out from commencement, Miss Gray’s graduation is in question.

“I think their reaction was beyond what it should have been because nobody understood it,” said Paris Gray.

She received an in-school suspension and was kept from participating in a senior walk last Friday after yearbooks were distributed, all due to a quote she left near her portrait.

“My first reaction was, you are such a nerd,” said Gray’s mother Zarinah Woods.

“Basically, it was me just saying start all over again,” said Gray. “You have to go back and start all over.”

I totally hear what she was saying, y’all. Sometimes you just have to go back.

Paris was kept from participating in the senior walk, and she was slated to give the inspirational speech at the graduation ceremony, but says an assistant principal told her she was out.

“It just completely destroyed me, and my mom’s been telling me don’t let it ruin my happiness but it’s like really taking a big toll,” said Gray.

All isn’t lost, though. WSB-TV 2 reports that Paris will attend Tennessee State next fall, regardless of whether or not she speaks at graduation. I’m sure if Juvenile needs “back up” dancers for his next tour, Paris will definitely get some consideration after this shoutout, too.

Or is Juvenile in jail? I’ll have to check up on that.
