Let’s get them all home, safe and sound; and take care of the families of those whom lost their lives.

Because in the military (especially the Corps) there is a fraternal bond established that is deeper than any fraternity brother can ever know. We not only eat sleep and work next to our fellow Marines but we also fight to the death next to each other and for the freedoms America enjoys. We are the single largest fraternity ever. Big time supporter of Marine Expeditionary forces, but didn’t they decommission and sink the U.S.S. Belleau Wood. The pic is FaF. I just don’t think you have the right ship.

you’re correct its decommissioned and they did sink it, but it is the Belleau Wood. The picture was taken around 2003 I believe while my father was serving on it.

There have been two U.S.S Belleau Woods the first was an aircraft carrier built during WWII and then sold to France in 1952. The second was built in the early 1970s and decommissioned and sunk in 2005.
The name comes from the single deadliest US Marine battle of WWI.
