German Town Adds Women-Proof Parking Spaces

A small German town tries to make its way onto the proverbial map with a little realistic, yet controversial, city planning. In a bold move, Triberg, Germany installed parking-friendly spaces for the half of drivers that seem to struggle with a few of the finer points of the road, also known as women.

Spaces in a new car park in the Black Forest town of Triberg now come with male and female symbols. The spaces for women are wider and well lit, while those for men are close to concrete pillars and can only be reversed into.

Explaining the policy, Mayor Gallus Strobel said it was a natural decision because men are better at parking than women.

Hey, the man’s just being honest. Now, this may not be the most politically correct or apropos decision, and it leaves the women in the area with a decision to make: complain and claim sexism, or just accept it and park your damn car without worrying about scratching up your shit or someone else’s. A few are choosing the former, naturally.

“I never expected this reaction,” he said. “I’ve been on the phone all day, the TV will come. I am happy, and it looks like we’ve hit a raw nerve in society.

Keep doing your thing, Strobel. These women will eventually get over it, especially after they whip their vehicles into your new luxurious new parking spaces a few times.

“Women can come here and prove me wrong, and while they’re at it they can see the town’s attractions,” he added.

“…and maybe they can service me, too.” Okay, I made that part up, but you know ole dirty dog Strobel is thinking it.
