Group Asks Golfer To Play Through, Golfer Pulls A Gun On Them And Gets Arrested
Pace of play has to be the number one complaint among recreational golfers. It’s frustrating to have to wait on the tee box time and time again for the hacks in front of you to finally get out of your distance range. You have two options to speed them up: ask them if you can play through (which they should offer anyway) or fire a few warning shots into the group. The latter is typically the better choice according to me.
A few guys from New Britain, Connecticut know exactly what I’m talking about. While playing a round at the Stanley Golf Course, they encountered an extremely slow group in front of them. Instead of choosing my option, they decided to go the verbal route and complain about the pace of play. The golfer in front of him let them play through, right? Well if you read the headline, you know that he took things to a new level.
From NBC:
Alejandro Baeza, 22, of Wethersfield, was arrested after course management said he grew agitated when the group of golfers behind him complained about the pace his group was playing their game. They said he went to his golf cart, grabbed a gun and flashed it at the complaining group.
Why does he even have a gun on the course to begin with? Alejandro seems like a nice dude. I bet there are some other golf etiquette rules that he fails to follow as well. He’s the guy who doesn’t fix his divots, he’ll claim 15-footers as gimmes, and answers cell phone calls during your back swing.
Alejandro will now be without a gun and permit since they were taken from him. Either pick up the pace or go play bocci ball, bud..
