Hammered Iowa Freshman Asks Cop For Ride Home, Is Denied, Enters Squad Car Anyway, Is Arrested

The University of Iowa is making the news yet again for their drunken antics. Just last week, we had the Iowa sorority girl who pissed all over the frozen yogurt shop. Now we have this 18-year-old freshman, John Louis Chapman, who got drunk and was looking for a ride home. I’m guessing that Uber does not exist in Iowa City, because he spotted a cop car in traffic, and asked for a ride home.

The tipsy Chapman allegedly approached a police cruiser stopped in traffic and asked cop Don Strong for a ride home. After the University of Iowa Public Safety officer told the student to return to the sidewalk, Chapman opened the squad car’s rear door and got into the vehicle.

Quite the power move pulled by Chapman. You really gotta respect that shit. Never take no for an answer. When you’re drunk and ready to go home, you find a ride home by any means necessary. If that means asking a cop who’s stopped in traffic for a lift, then you ask that cop in traffic for a damn lift. And if he says no, just hop in anyway. It’s a foolproof plan that certainly worked out for this kid, right?

Wrong. Chapman was arrested for public intoxication and blew a .236 — almost three times what society deems acceptable. Good job, good effort though..
