Hawaiian Shirts Are Back In Style, According To The Fashion Industry
I’ve never been one to brag, but I honestly think I’m some kind of visionary. Those of you who’ve read my articles know I’m a huge fan of Hawaiian shirts–I’ve been promoting their wear for years. Well, apparently mainstream fashion took notes on what your boy Bluto had to say, because now, the industry says Hawaiian shirts are in.
“The Hawaiian Aloha shirt is one of the most iconic American menswear fashion pieces,” says Joey Rodolfo, VP of Men’s Design for Tommy Bahama. “It’s tough to think of any place you couldn’t wear it.”
This Rodolfo guy couldn’t be more right. You really can wear one anywhere. A first date? You bet. A court appearance? Hell yeah. A funeral? I don’t see why not.
While Rodolfo believes that the Hawaiian shirt is appropriate for virtually any occasion, he does think there are some rules when it comes to wearing the clothing of the gods. According to him, Hawaiian shirts should always be buttoned, and they shouldn’t be paired with athletic shorts, black socks, or jorts. Unfortunately, I have to disagree with him.
The spirit of the Hawaiian shirt is freedom, plain and simple. You can wear them with whatever the hell you want. It’s like Burger King; you can have it your way. Regardless of how you choose to wear them, one thing is certainly true–Hawaiian shirts are back, guys. Though to be honest, I’m pretty sure they were never out.
Join the movement. Spread the word. #YesAllMenWhoWearHawaiianShirts

That add for 50% off Hawaiian shirts is pretty well placed

10 years ago at 1:53 pmWhen is the RG Hawaiian shirt coming out Bluto?
10 years ago at 1:58 pmI’m not privy to that kind of high grade information. Hopefully soon.
10 years ago at 10:44 pmObvious marketing ploy. I respect it. If RG came out with the Hawaiian line first and then told everyone how cool it is, it would lose a little steam, but the order of operation here is pretty good. Use the source, Tommy Bahama, to make it seem like it’s a cool trend, add the made up hashtag to try to spread the movement, gain support from the TFM faithful, and boom: the Rowdy Gentlemen Hawaiian line

Unbuttoning a button on the Hawaiian after every shot is a tradition at our parties.
