Help Support The Now Unemployed House Cook Of OU’s SAE Chapter
“For the guy who has probably spent more hours at 730 College than any other man,” the racism shown from members of Oklahoma’s SAE chapter cuts even deeper.
Howard is the tenured chef of the SAE house at the University of Oklahoma. Because of the actions of several members of the chapter — people who Howard spends a great deal of his time with — he is now unemployed after word came in that the fraternity was removed from campus. As an African American, it’s not hard to imagine that the news of his services no longer being needed probably doesn’t compare to the realization that some of his friends are racist.
The good news is you can help Howard, financially, thanks to the thoughtfulness of who I’m guessing is a former member of this chapter. An Indiegogo campaign was launched yesterday in Howard’s name. The intent is to ensure that Howard lands on his feet in the wake of this unfortunate incident. The posted goal is $50,000, and the current amount raised just eclipsed $11,000. The campaign runs through April 7.
From Indiegogo:
Today we received the news that some ignorant kids have quickly destroyed something that thousands of men built. Because of these kids’ actions, many will be affected. None more so than Howard.
Those of you who lived in the house, undoubtedly came to love Howard and his infectious smile (if not his chili dogs). He was always there to chat with you and more importantly, to take care of Mom B.
Well, that man is going to walk up to the SAE house tomorrow morning and hear that he no longer has a job. He is going to learn who has been working for. And through some cruel twist of fate, he has to lose the job that he has held for over a decade. He is going to lose his job because of a bus full of racist kids.
You know and I know that this isn’t the house we lived in. I’m positive Howard knows this too. I ask you to give some money to make sure he lands on his feet.
Thank you.
Good stuff here. Well done. Click the below graphic to be directed to the campaign page if you’d like to donate..

I feel as if I’m speaking for most black fratters when I say thank you for attempting to make this right, fellas. Unfortunately, news stations won’t be showing this side of Greek community. It’s also a relief to know my favorite app/website isn’t filled with racist jackasses. Thanks, again.
