High School Hossler Shines at Olympic
When I was 17 years old, I was playing a strong-to-quite-strong left field with a respectable batting average, picking on the inferior kids at school, and trying to convince my older sister to buy beer for my friends and me on the weekends. It’s fair to say Beau Hossler is ahead of my curve.
While sporting a high-profile visor that would make Freddy Couples proud, High School Hossler grabbed the attention of America’s golfing enthusiasts with his very stout showing in the first two rounds of the U.S. Open. As a newly-pubescent, he hung a 70 and 73 on Thursday and Friday on one of the most challenging tracks in the country. It’s a course that’s leaving guys like Mickelson and Watson completely befuddled out there. A score of par is considered a huge success. Hossler currently sits 3 over and tied for 9th on the leaderboard surrounded by a bevy of PGA’s best.
Beau Hossler, the University of Texas commitment, will carry quite a rep with him to Austin. He just became a top 10 all-time rush prospect.
“Hey, Beau. Tell me a little bit about yourself.”
“Okay, well I graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA, I interned for a reputable investment firm last summer, and I’ve played in two U.S. Opens, including a top 10 finish in 2012.”
“I see.”
Tune in Saturday at 5:05 eastern to watch the brace-faced phenom try and fight his way to a late afternoon tee time on Sunday.
too bad he didnt take his mom’s last name. not that any self-respecting man would ever do such a thing.
