I Will Not Stand For The Sister Jean Slander

Last year, I had a friend message me to help her with her bracket. She said she couldn’t decide between a potential Purdue and St. Mary’s matchup. When I asked her why she responded, “I want to pick Purdue because I’m loyal to my chicken brand of choice, but going against the God factor is obviously not a smart play.”

That game obviously never came to fruition, as the big man upstairs was way less successful taking down Sean Miller than the FBI. But this March, another team has been redeeming Yahweh’s credibility in a major way. Obviously, I’m talking about Loyola-Chicago and their 98-year-old nun Sister Jean. If this was a movie, it would be a feel good, buddy cop comedy from the ’80s starring Eddie Murphy and Betty White. Imagine if Loyola wins it all and we see this modern-day Mother Teresa cutting down the nets? I might shed a tear of happiness.

The sensation just keeps growing as Loyola is one win away from the Final Four. But as much as America is all aboard the Sister Jean train, there are still a few haters.

Tennessee radio host Cody McClure called out Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt, the 98-year-old nun who is the friendly face of Loyola-Chicago’s run to the Sweet 16, after the Ramblers beat the Volunteers, 63-62, on Saturday.

“F–k Sister Jean everyone,” McClure wrote on Twitter.

How much of a dick do you need to be to hate an elderly nun that loves college basketball? If you can curse out Sister Jean, maybe it’s time to take a good look in the mirror and see what’s really wrong with your life.

McClure later said it was a throwaway joke he made after being frustrated with his Tennessee Volunteers taking the L. Still, you attacked the wrong person buddy. Sister Jean is a saint, and I will not take kindly to any slight made against her. The Volunteers from this point forward are hereby smited for your buffoonery.
