It’s time to cast off your responsibilities with a couple cold ones and your best buddies on a porch of your choosing. Every week we’re bringing you the best jams for a day of unwinding on the deck, dock, or boat. Nothing beats good friends and good music, so kick back and turn up the speakers.

Fan Favorite: The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, The Band

Suggested by CantDriveDixieDown. You’re sending mixed messages, champ. As he pleasantly informed us last week however, “It’s a solid tune.”

Honorable Mention: Wichita Lineman, Glen Campbell

Suggested by DPQLS. An iconic song that encompasses the soul of country with absolutely stunning instrumentals. One of the best recommendations to date.

1. You Ain’t Going Nowhere, The Byrds

Written by Bob Dylan, The Byrds do an unbelievable job of crooning this thigh slapper. It’s not exactly made for hootin’ and hollerin’, but it’s still an all-timer when it comes to nodding along.

2. No More Sleeping, Jakafella

This dropped about a month ago and I’m about it. Great for an afternoon spent boozing or an early morning preparing to grind.

3. The Legend of Wooley Swamp, The Charlie Daniels Band

Charlie and the gang bring pure heat with this classic. I’d argue nobody tells a story quite like the great Charlie Daniels and this one’s no exception.

4. Home Sweet Home, Mötley Crüe

Entertainers spend a hell of a lot of time busting their butts on the road, but few tunes sum it up quite like this one. There’s a reason it’s still getting spins to this day.

5. Poor Rambler, Sturgill Simpson

Yeah, it’s a Ralph Stanley original, but current king of country Sturgill Simpson crushes it. The philosopher/poet/artist has an uncanny ability to work every angle of country music. Clearly bluegrass is no exception.

6. Mr. Night, Kenny Loggins

Another fantastic Loggins tune that will make you recall Cindy Morgan’s absolutely smoking body in Caddyshack. Try to avoid any charges for beating it in public.

7. To Play Some Music, Journey

Journey’s best work was their early stuff. Don’t Stop Believing is a great song to howl at the bar around 1 a.m. but anything off their eponymous album is more suited to sunshine.

8. Dear Raleigh, Kooley High

Kooley might still be on the come up but the NC group deserves some love. They keep it mellow but have excellent flow and good bars.

9. New Orleans, William Clark Green

It’s not the up and comer’s first visit to this playlist and it sure won’t be their last. Keep your ears peeled for this guy. He’s got legs.

10. Evolution Orange, Earth, Wind and Fire

Funky, jazzy, overall tight. It’s Earth, Wind and Fire. What do you expect?
