Idiot ESPN Student Reporter Suggests Florida State Gunman Was Going After Jameis Winston, Doubles Down On Dumb Statement After Backlash

ESPN Campus Connection reporter Marisa Martin posted a poorly thought-out tweet Wednesday night, just as news of the Florida State library shooting began spreading on social media.

Martin, an Alabama student, tweeted that the shooter was potentially “heading for Jameis.” When her tweet was met with immediate criticism, she doubled down on her stupid stance, saying:

“Since apparently I cant make a joke in all seriousness I hope everyone at FSU is safe & that the gunman is found. But I stand by my opinions.”

ESPN Campus Connection reporters aren’t technically paid employees of the network; instead, they are interns who are encouraged to “produce content or help with production.”

After receiving hundreds of angry tweets, Martin played the predictable “I made a mistake on Twitter” card. She deactivated her account and then declared it was hacked, sending out multiple tweets from the official Alabama Campus Connection Twitter account claiming innocence.

Yeah, sure. Okay.

I wouldn’t look for any media job offers headed my direction if I was Marisa–especially from ESPN..
