If I Wanted America to Fail

  1. The Sixth Year

I’m a staunch republican and this video is terrible. This is something the liberals do and I hope these kind of videos don’t continue for conservatives. Literally taking a bunch of conspiracy theories, a bunch of intangible statements, and acting like it’s the other party’s fault. Fuck Obama and fuck democrats, but this video is so manipulative and bad, I just wish they had used those epic video shots and music with something worthwhile.

I’m sorry, but this is the most pathetic, uninformed, and simply wrong piece of shit I’ve ever seen. Talking about oil as an abundant resource? I’m sorry, America only controls 3% of the world’s oil and uses 25% of it. We get the vast majority of our oil from other countries so don’t try to say that this is OUR energy. Second, science (ya it’s that little thing smart people do) has proven that oil will run out eventually and the only truly abundant source of energy is the sun. So stop spreading this bull shit. Second, idea of an ice age coming from cars is true. Once again you crazy people seem to ignore science. Then you say that capitalism is the only economic system that has uplifted the poor. This is true, but it is also creating a massive disparity between the rich and the poor and destroying the middle class currently. I could listen for about 30 seconds before I got absolutely disgusted with this video. I am a fraternity man and yes I am a democrat, but I believe that the Republican party does have its arguments and frankly is right in some of their arguments and I absolutely hate bleeding heart liberals. I am not a man of sympathy. I am not a man that deals with emotions. I don’t give a fuck about “don’t you feel bad for the poor kid?” Of course I do, but i’m not going to judge my policy positions on an individual. I base my positions on facts, on science, on history, and logic. So before you go all crazy with your propaganda that is frankly historically and scientifically WRONG and filled with so many logical fallacies I can’t even count them, get your facts straight and stop spreading bull shit. It makes us look like the stupid, selfish, self-entitled assholes that everyone already thinks we are.

First, you used ‘Second’ twice without a ‘First’. Science does say that fossil fuels will run out. He never said they were renewable. He simply said that he would cut off our supply of the most abundant energy. He doesn’t even mention oil anywhere in the video. He DOES mention coal, of which America is the second largest producer in the world. So, even if you include oil, he is just saying he would cut off our supply (like you said, from other countries). So, why the diatribe attacking his beliefs on things that HE DIDN’T EVEN SAY? Typical Liberal Straw-Man tactic. The only true abundant source of energy is the sun? Nuclear energy is not abundant? I can only assume that you were joking about that. Geothermal, hydro-electric, tidal? Those are all renewable. It is OUR energy because when we use those fuels and turn them into energy, that energy is ours. Science does not say that the next ice age is coming from cars…if humans had never come into existence, the next Ice Age would still be coming just the same. Science may offer evidence that points toward the rate at which it is happening is increased by cars. As for the rest, it all seems to be more of the same. The only people more annoying than the ones who ignore science, are the ones who say it says something it doesn’t just to push an agenda.

It’s a fools errand to think that climate change isn’t in some way our fault, just as it is to get clouded and think that oil will (or has) lasted forever. It’s not doom and gloom, it’s the basic fact of the matter. For all the staunch, propagandized talk about ‘fearing for America’ and all that other bullshit, I most fear what our forefathers would think of our recklessness and ignorance. It’s not liberal to accept the consequences of actions or realizations, and it’s not liberal to man-up and find solutions and innovations. That’s not conservative, either. It’s damn AMERICAN. We don’t use railroads powered by coal to get everywhere, but I’m damn sure when the advent of the automobile really became ubiquitous it had its fair share of hard-nose critics betting against the future, against progress and innovation, and against the AMERICAN WAY in favor of what was safe and known. We’re patriots because we’re trailblazers. Because we accept it when things change and adapt without sacrificing our morals or ideals. Well gentlemen, an INDUSTRY is NOT an ideal. It’s not a moral right, a Christian right, or an American right. The free market is an ideal. Not the oil industry, and not the paranoid talk that clean energy and innovation are masks for profiteering. To ignore the future is to damn yourself to the failures of all great societies of the past. And that’s what this video does.

If climate change is our fault, you make the first step. Lead by example. Give up your car. Give up your electricity, don’t support any use of oil at all…

      I’ll follow, after you.

I didn’t say climate change was only our fault, but regardless of fault, it is certainly our responsibility as good, decent people to tend to our land and property and planet as our fathers did for us. I’m not saying that means giving up cars (Hell, I drive an Explorer and have two Expeditions at home) or stopping the use of electricity or oil. But it does mean having an honest talk about how we’re going to go into the future- and not being ignorant of the stresses and progresses ahead of us. To ignore is to fail. That’s all I’m saying. My example is my unacceptance of this propagandized bullshit by a guy who clearly has an agenda he’s trying to infuse into being an ‘American ideal’ when it is not. Industry can just as much be the tyranny our Constitution and Bill of Rights warned and guarded us from as King George and his taxes were. If you acknowledge that, and find a way to empower the people to change the status quo, then you’re actually doing some truth and good. If I wanted America to fail, I wouldn’t say this. Because I believe in our country, and think our challenges now are no different or more-crumbling than they were in the 80s, 60s, 40s, or before. It’s just a new set of problems we will find a way to face, and come out leading victors in. But if we don’t even accept the challenge exists- well, then we can’t begin to figure out how to face it.

Liberals have their heads stuck so far up Obama’s ass that they cannot realize that everything in this video is true. For some reason every word a conservative says that is in contrast to the viewpoints of Obama Administration they are immediately classified as closed minded conservative radicals. When in reality most liberals are the real closed minded ones. Everyone needs to watch the video called Idiots who voted for Obama. Every person interviewed had no idea any policy/running mates/important democratic member of government. If I wanted America to fail I would vote for Obama and his anti-American sentiments. Vote for NC 1!

Well played. If this video was shortened to about 30 seconds, it would make an excellent commercial.
