Inside TFM, Ep. 35: Grab Her By The Podcast

insidetfm35

This week we debate “Trump’s locker room talk,” give a statement about Boosh and the rest of our writers — you can read a FULL statement on the events of the last few days from our CEO Madison here, tell an embarrassing porno at work story, play the game “Is This PC Controversy Real or Fake,” and there are no hotline calls this week because our producer Ham fucked up and lost the final 20 minutes of the podcast.

I always liked Boosh and Dan. Harrison came across as an asshole, though the freelancers said he was good to work with.

How’s GLink going? If you could make on-course deliveries using drones, that would be cool.

Drone delivery has been written on the whiteboard for future iteration. I like that idea

I’m going to guess I sealed my fate when I openly and sincerely thought “Texas State” was a team Blue Mountain State played in an episode I’d forgotten.

I”m having major IBOTD withdrawals. Can’t you put one of your shitty interns on the job? Plus, is anyone going to man up and tell us exactly what the hell happened?

They were just spending too much generating internet content. TFM alone (not counting PGP and TSM) had 4 content managers on payroll, plus the shitty freelancers working at $25/column. If we’re willing to read Wally’s freelance shit (and buy the clothes), then paying these other guys to generate “content” didn’t make sense.

The freelancers make $25 bucks per fuckin’ column? So, basically, they can go to the movie theater [alone] and see a movie [with no popcorn or gummy bears] every time they write a column? Geeeeesh, where do I sign up? Anyway, if management is reading this – the last nail in your coffin is if you give up IBOTD. If no one is going to come for your shitty columns, we at least need some visuals to make us check on the site daily….

$25 for an original column, $15 for a news article. Basically, you’re getting drinking money, plus experience and maybe a line on your resume (if you’re willing to admit that you wrote about anal sex).

Wait, they pay the other freelancers? I just get a sticker from Jared for every 5 columns.

It’s been pretty obvious (all the adds) they are making an effort to move more to the clothing lines and away from online content. Good for business. Sucks for those of us who are stuck glued to our cubical chairs all fucking day.

So are you guys gonna be selling RIP TFM shirts when this site invetiably dies?

  3. Larry_Sellers

Do they address exactly why the full-time writers got canned? I’m not gonna listen to it, but if someone else could that’d be great.

Oh wait, there’s a link to a written statement from Madison in the description.

Can someone summarize this shit? I only looked at the podcasts when boosh was featured.

  5. Gun_Slinger

Summarize Madison’s statement for you all…

“We had to consolidate responsibilities in order to better manage the company”. “Fuck it”.

The most shocking revelation from the podcast is that Bacon has a girlfriend.

And they have “lots of sex” which means 3 times in a night apparently. Rookie numbers.

More than that is just work. Besides, who has time for that? Get a hobby.

“The things we did wrong lead us to a situation where certain areas of the business just weren’t performing at a sufficient level of financial viability.”

This is what happens when you make a shitty movie
