Intramural Football National Signing Day

Johnny “John-Boy” Elsey

Commitment: Psi house – Ole Miss Chapter
Rating: One star
Position: Punter
Hometown: St. Petersburg, Florida
Height: 6-1
Weight: 175 lbs.

Strengths:

-Big time leg.
-Former soccer player, but quit after getting burned out after senior year.
-If he’s up for it, the house’s soccer team could use a little help.
-Turned down preferred walk-on status at Florida Atlantic and Southern Miss after getting his bid from Psi.

Weaknesses:

-Can’t really help out anywhere else.
-Runs like a girl.
-Quiet, but that could be for the better as a shit-talking punter could be embarrassing.

Outlook: Psi is pretty well set everywhere else and getting Elsey just rounds out their squad for the upcoming season. You can’t question his commitment, though. He’s a team player and knows his role. A few juniors are also trying to convince him to go two-sports and play on the house’s soccer team.

Worst case: He holds out on the intramural soccer team for more than a semester and screws the house’s overall sports finish and those boners from Delta win the overall sports championship for the fifth straight semester.
Best case: He becomes a solid two-sport contributor.

Can we stop covering sports on TFM? You guys are worse sports commentators than John Madden.

Any kid who played backup in high school sure as hell isn’t getting any playing time.

Phil Steele? I’m pretty sure you mean Phil Knight. (on Thomas Eastwood III’s page)

I actually thought this was a great article.
