Irate 76ers Fans Destroyed The Franchise On Instagram After Trading Michael Carter-Williams

As part of a three-team trade on Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers dealt both the NBA’s 2013-14 Rookie Of The Year, Michael Carter-Williams, and another blossoming point guard, K.J. McDaniels, to the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets, respectively. The majority of Philadelphia’s return came in the form of wishful draft picks, in a move that many fans feel effectively set the rebuilding franchise back even further.

Some 76ers faithful took to the team’s Instagram account, which had posted a picture earlier this week of MCW making an appearance at All-Star weekend, to voice his disdain. The caption accompanying the picture reads, “Put on for Philly. #RisingSixers.” It’s a far cry from a compliment given to a player who admittedly didn’t even know he was on the trading block.

Sixers fans didn’t hold back when they let GM Sam Hinkie and the rest of the franchise’s management know how they really felt about losing one of the team’s few bright spots in the unexpected trade.

The account has since removed the comments, as if the franchise is trying to pretend that everything is okay in Sixerland today. Clearly, there are quite a few people who feel quite the contrary. It’s okay, though. Now the 76ers are setting their sights on the 2022 NBA Championship, and it’s not like seven years is a long time to wait. Deserting long-time fans and planning the best way to lose games: That’s what Philadelphia sports teams do!

MCW was not a great PG, and it’s not like he’s the next AI. Getting a high draft pick for him is a steal

They have a lot of young talent in the front court and MCW was a legit ball hog by all definitions. He was the best player on the team but wouldn’t have fit the system in the future.. And no, I’m not an NBA fan, but I have a gambling problem and research is vital.

Dude, MCW doesn’t want to ball hog. He is a rondo-lite, he gets people buckets. Unfortunately nobody on this team can score to save their life so he’s had to be the #1 option. He’s going to play so much better with the Bucks

In a draft as stacked as this one you sure fucking do. MCW is great but this was a good move for Hinkie
