Is The Dark Knight Anti-Romney?

The most anticipated movie for quite some time, The Dark Knight Rises, is only a couple days away from release. With the opening on the horizon, the film is getting coverage from nearly every media outlet imaginable. It has even been discussed on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show.

The Dark Knight Rises features the main antagonist Bane, which, according to Limbaugh, is more than a coincidence. Mitt Romney’s former private-equity firm was named Bain Capital, and Limbaugh suggested that Bane was intentionally chosen to be used in this film just to sway voters from the GOP.

“This movie, the audience is gonna be huge. A lot of people are gonna see the movie, and it’s a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd, and they’re gonna hear Bane in the movie and they’re gonna associate Bain. The thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie, “Oh, yeah, I know who that is.” (laughing) There are some people who think it’ll work. Others think you’re really underestimating the American people to think that will work.”

Bane has existed as a character since 1993 when he first appeared in the Batman Comics. However, the decision to use Bane in the new installment of The Dark Knight series came only in 2011. Is it possible that Bane was only used to make a link to Bain Capital?

^Obama will just take all my hard earned money and give it to some free loading gdi, and if you pay attention to everything Romney does he makes no sense. Says he will be great because he ran businesses but those businesses 1) outsourced jobs and 2) filed bankruptcy. Also, when he is asked about his finances he is constantly running in circles and just says he has someone else do them for him and wont release anything before the years he started running for presidency. Obviously when your going to run your going to make sure to be great with your financial spending.

Im not saying Ron Paul is the best but he is better than these two. He is TFTC what people say and just tells it like it is.

^^Obama ran us in circles when we asked for his birth certificate, which oh by the way is a big deal for our presidential nominee, now president to provide

God, don’t even. Chris Nolan, along with everyone else who made this movie may be lib-tards, but I respect him because his movies are unbiased, wholesome and just fucking awesome. This is TFM. Not Glenn Beck.

^Thank you. I’ll leave you with a nice Glenn Beck quote…
“When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I’m just like, ‘Oh shut up’ I’m so sick of them because they’re always complaining.” –”The Glenn Beck Program,” Sept. 9, 2005

Well the second movie has been admitted to be a critique of the Patriot Act with the surveillance of every phone in the city. Along with Batman overreaching his jurisdiction by taking the crime syndicate’s accountant from his firm in China, it becomes a clearer allegory to question America’s continued revocation of freedoms and escalating foreign actions. That said, I still just think Limbaugh needed to fill air time. I sincerely hope that we as Americans haven’t fallen far enough to let a simple word-association exercise influence a presidential election.

      R-money 2012.

No, Gotta disagree with Rush on this one. That guy, apparently, has a lot of hours to fill if that is how he spending his time.

Honestly, looking at the comments below, I’m happy there’s a little common sense on this site.

No, mostly because the Bain stuff came out this year. The script for this movie was written before production in 2011. Bane was announced as the villain in late 2010, after TDK did so well in theaters. So, no, this has nothing to do with Romney, and Limbaugh is a fucktard.

You’d have to be really fucking stupid to fall for this. Romney is fucked.

I agree with your first statement. Your second statement, though…if you’re voting for Obama, go fuck yourself, champ.

He’s saying that there are plenty of fucking stupid people (in general, democrats) in America who would believe that the movie is against Romney and will be “swayed to vote against him because of the movie” even though it has jack shit to do with politics.

Think about how stupid the average person is. By definition, half of the population is even dumber than that.

I think about that all the time: half of the people in the world are below average intelligence and average intelligence ain’t all that great.

Oh, and in this country, everyone of them can vote. We ought to apply at least a current events test before you can vote. Perhaps if you don’t pass your vote is worth less… 3/5 for instance?

Ridiculousness. Nolan is ending his trilogy and (without spoiling too much), let’s just say Bane is the proper way to do it.

Jesus Rush, I was with you on the slut comment, but come on, guy.
