It Looks Like Les Miles Has Caught The Acting Bug

Back in January, I expressed some concern that Les Miles may have lost his will to live after video serviced of him fucking around with a fidget spinner.

Well, the good news is that it looks like he has found his new passion. The weird news is that passion seems to be…acting.

After a tumultuous end to his tenure at LSU, 2017 was the first football season since 1979 in which Miles was not working as a football coach in some capacity. He took that time to polish his on-camera skills, both as a sports analyst and as an actor, something Miles says he’s been interested in for a long time.

Recently, Miles invited Lauren Sisler and the AL.com crew to spend a day with him at his home in Baton Rouge as he worked on his acting chops, studying lines and performing scenes from some classic films including The Godfather, Silence of the Lambs, and Independence Day.

Don’t expect Les to be snatching up Oscars anytime soon, but the LSU coaching legend is starting to snatch up a couple movie roles, according to his IMDB page. You can catch him alongside megastar Dean Cain in this year’s hotly anticipated Angry Men, where he plays an angry man named Nelson.

Fortunately, for his own sanity’s sake, Les hasn’t completely hitched his wagon to the acting thing and is still open to making a coaching comeback.

The 64-year-old coach says he would like to continue coaching but wants to find the right fit at the right school.

“I enjoy the relationships of the young men and of the families that I’ve represented and coached,” he said. “There’s more to do. There’s a championship out there that I haven’t won yet.”

So yeah, here’s hoping Les is back to donning a coach’s headset sometime soon. Mainly so we can all get this image out of our heads.
