Who doesn’t love a feel good story? Where some kid perseveres through a rough upbringing and overcomes all odds to earn himself a college scholarship to play D-1 ball.

Good for you, Antonio Allen. To go from the ghetto to the cover of Big 10 preview magazine shows real determination and grit. Seems like you’re a man of true character. A class act, all around. I don’t think you know how geometry works, but that’s fine. You’re at IU to play football, not to play school.

From Indy Star:

Allen was arrested Tuesday and charged with dealing cocaine and with dealing heroin (over 10 grams)with a firearm, a Monroe County jail spokesman said. Both are Level 2 felonies. He also was charged with dealing methamphetamine, a lesser charge.

According to the court documents, state police worked with an informant who purchased drugs from Allen on two occasions in exchange for $620 and $770 in cash. Police supplied the informant with an audio/video recording device.

Shit. Not even 24 hours after you posted that Instagram pic with the inspirational words, huh? Alright, let’s see if we can put a positive spin on this. You were slinging coke, heroin, and meth? Damn. Those aren’t exactly fan favorites amongst the public. Really putting us in a tough spot, Antonio.

Wait, I got it. Let’s deflect the whole drug dealing story with how you go to bed hungry at night because the stipend the NCAA gives you is nowhere near enough. That will get people fired up. Everyone loves to shit all over the NCAA. That’s what we’re going with. You were simply just trying to survive. Man has got to eat.

What was it you did again? See it’s already working.

Funny, most people don’t consider “youth” a bad thing. I guess it’s just another word like “teen” or “thug”.
