JetBlue Apologizes For Threatening To Kick Stripper Off Flight For Wearing Short Shorts

Airline JetBlue has apologized after threatening a Seattle burlesque dancer with de-boarding because other families on the plane would have found her zebra-striped short shorts “distasteful.”

Maggie McMuffin was returning home from a performance on the east coast when the incident happened earlier this month. She was wearing a tiger sweater with striped black and white shorts and thigh-highs.

The photos McMuffin took of her shorts in the airplane’s bathroom have been shared thousands of times on social media.

“They’re not like burlesque shorts, they’re just shorts,” she said. “And it’s obviously subjective. I’ve flown JetBlue before. I flew in that exact same outfit the same day, and also if they can rebook me on a different flight, that means it’s not any type of company policy.”

If those shorts are “inappropriate,” then the human meltdown of spandex, muffin tops and sports bras that is a sorority study table in the library during finals must be completely illegal. And those girls are mostly pretty hot too. As people on Facebook said, how many times have you walked into a Walmart and gotten pummeled with 250 pounds of cushion hanging out of a pair of Lululemons that were begging for death? One stripper wearing (pretty average) booty shorts is a non-issue.

I’m all for public decency, but let’s make it apply to the right people. Plus, if I have to sit in a flying aluminum tube of farts for 6 hours, I don’t mind a little something to look at. Obviously the flight crew didn’t feel the same way..
