Johnny Manziel Only Taking Online Classes To Avoid Getting Mobbed On Campus

It’s got to be a pretty significant distraction sitting in class with the most famous college athlete in the country, and Johnny Manziel is currently the most famous college athlete in the country. Listen, I don’t want to hear anyone come at with any AJ McCarron talk. “But AJ just won another national championship, and he plays for the Crimson Taaaaahd!” Just shut up with that nonsense — AJ McCarron isn’t even the most famous person in his bedroom right now.

If you’re in class with Football, you have to try and cheat off him, right? Seems like a no-brainer to me. There is no way anyone at Texas A&M is going to let the Heisman winner fail a class, or even an exam. If your test score comes back as a 58, you’ve got a hell of a case there. “Oh, I got a 58, huh? Interesting, well what did Johnny get? Did he get a 58, too? Are you sure you don’t want to check my answers one more time, teach?”

But to walk in Manziel’s shoes around College Station, that’s got to be one chaotic clusterfuck. And once you settle into the classroom, drop your backpack on the floor and get ready to take notes, you’ve got to deal with the normal classroom fame business like 15 people asking to borrow a No. 2 pencil, fielding stupid questions like “Hey, what’d you get for number 4 on the quiz?” and paper airplane love notes buzzing your tower. Stuff like that. That’s not exactly an environment conducive to learning.

Manziel had to get out of there.

Manziel said today while at the Fort Worth Club for the Davey O’Brien Award dinner that he’s only on campus – outside of the actual Bright football building – about once a month this semester.

“It just happened to work out where it was good after the football season with all of the stuff going on,” Manziel said. “It was a good time to not have to worry about being on campus and some other things, too.”

Don’t think he’s just big-leaguing the students either. He gave the classroom a shot this semester. The students went all “12-year-old girl at a Justin Bieber concert” on him.

“I went one day – it was a small class of 20 or 25 – and it kind of turned into more of a big deal than I thought,” Manziel said. “The (athletic department) did a good job of saying let us know if you need anything and we’ll figure it all out, but (by then) I had all online classes so we didn’t need (that help).”

I want to say to the students of A&M that they need to chill out and act like they’ve been there before, but they’ve been so hungry for a contender for so many years now that I kind of get it. Just don’t scare him away, guys. Remember, after next season, and despite having two years of eligibility left, he can declare for the NFL draft.

  1. Sex Please

He needs to get out on campus and enjoy all the slams that would to do terrible and things to him on those 15 minute breaks between classes

That’s what he wants people to think. I bet that ass clown has someone take all of his online courses because he THINKS he will make it to the NFL and could give two shits about school. Now that would be a TFM (hypothetically of course)
