Johnny Manziel Threw A Rager Friday Night, Leading To A Fine And Josh Gordon’s Suspension

You can take Johnny out of College Station, but you can never take College Station out of Johnny. Just a few days after acknowledging that he needed to take his job as an NFL quarterback more seriously, Manziel threw a rager Friday night with several teammates in attendance. Classic Johnny. This must have been the best thing Johnny threw all season, because he and wide receiver Josh Gordon were no-shows to practice the next day — undoubtedly, they were hungover as fuck.

Both Manziel and Gordon were absent from the Browns’ walk-through on Saturday morning, and the team had trouble locating them, a source close to the team told ESPN.

Manziel had to be present for either the walk-through or, since he was on injured reserve, treatment on the hamstring. When he did not show for either, the team had to search for him. Browns security visited Manziel’s home Saturday morning to check on the rookie quarterback about his treatment, sources told ESPN.

Manziel, who was placed on injured reserve last week, was fined, and Gordon was suspended for the Browns’ season finale against the Baltimore Ravens.

I like to imagine Johnny and Josh hungover on Manziel’s couch, watching SportsCenter, chugging bottles of water, and popping Advil as they reminisced and pieced together the night.

We’ve all been there before. The realization of responsibilities and matters of the outside world hit and you just say “Fuck it, not today.”

Johnny’s season is over, anyway, and Gordon has proved he can show up (after being a car salesman, mind you) and ball out on the field.

The Browns need to relax a bit and realize that they’re still the Cleveland Browns..
