Keith Olbermann Calls Penn State Raising More Than $13 Million For Cancer Research “Pitiful”
Before Skip Bayless firmly sat down and took the ESPN throne for King Troll, the role was admirably fulfilled by one Keith Olbermann. His shtick eventually ran its course, and an ugly divorce between the worldwide leader and Olbermann sparked a decade-long feud.
Since the folks up in Bristol have zero shame, ol’ Keith has since returned and has relatively flown under the radar even though he still spews out the same aggressive, asinine opinions on his daily program, “Olbermann.” I imagine this is due to no one under the age of 55 watching this snoozefest of a show with humor that comparatively makes your dad’s jokes come off like Louis C.K. But if you thought Olbermann would stand for this irrelevance, you don’t know Olbermann.
He has finally caught the attention of the youth — and particularly every student at Penn State.
@lisaadeleon …Pitiful
— Keith Olbermann (@KeithOlbermann) February 23, 2015
Alright, Keith. Not even going to ease into this one, huh? Let’s see how this plays out.
Dave put up an admirable fight, but he made the classic mistake of feeding the troll. Under no circumstance should you ever answer a troll with a serious response. There’s just no scenario where you don’t lose both time and brain cells.
The thing about Olbermann is that he’s such a pompous douchenozzle that even when he knows he’s in the wrong, he’ll never admit such weakness. Just the worst kind of human being.
Finally, a tip of the hat to everyone up at Happy Valley for raising more than $13 million for cancer research. Youse guys (channeling my inner Philly) are the real MVPs..
Update
From ESPN:
We are aware of the exchange Keith Olbermann had on Twitter last night regarding Penn State. It was completely inappropriate and does not reflect the views of ESPN. We have discussed it with Keith, who recognizes he was wrong. ESPN and Keith have agreed that he will not host his show for the remainder of this week and will return on Monday. The annual tradition of THON and the efforts of the students of Penn State to fight pediatric cancer should be applauded.
I apologize for the PSU tweets. I was stupid and childish and way less mature than the students there who did such a great fundraising job.

ESPN no doubt forced his hand on this one. Like I said, Keith wouldn’t willingly admit fault.

I have partook in the past two dance marathons at my school. one of the best feelings possible hearing the families and children you are helping. shame on you, Keith
11 years ago at 12:46 pmWhile you may have felt good about yourself, you produced zero results. And that is why I am adamantly opposed to Cancer Scare Scams. It’s an incurable disease that leeches off of the desire for people to feel good about themselves.
11 years ago at 12:50 pmPeople use donations to help pay for treatment. Say what you will about the science behind it, but you can’t be against the idea of helping a deserving family financial through a tough time.
11 years ago at 2:18 pmTuco,
11 years ago at 2:25 pmWhat happened at TSM? You were a three year matriarch and they Balled you. Why?
Don’t know. I think when they post an article about fat chicks or feminism and I don’t respond in 100% agreement, it upsets them, and rather than debate, they call me an asshole and run from the rebuttal.
11 years ago at 2:30 pmIt’ll remain incurable unless we keep researching and fundraising that research, idiot.
11 years ago at 9:14 pmOlbermann is the AL Sharpton of the sports world.
11 years ago at 1:06 pmwhat about Stephen a. smith?
11 years ago at 5:15 pmGood point considering they’re both race baiters. But in terms of being awful people it’s definitely Sharpton.
11 years ago at 9:39 pmHave fun getting fired you douche
11 years ago at 1:12 pmKeith Olbermann can’t even drive. Seriously, look it up, his equilibrium is all messed up because he’s a jackass.
11 years ago at 1:27 pmThis actually made me laugh. His medical diagnosis is a direct result of being a jackass to everyone.
11 years ago at 2:25 pmYou know, he is only calling a Penn State education pitiful… which it is so, so, so true.
11 years ago at 2:18 pmSo, where do you attend? Penn State is ranked #48 nationally and has been ranked among top 50 world universities. It’s also one of only 60 universities who belong to the Association of American Universities due to its strong academic research focus. Many schools aspire to be accepted into the AAU. Times Higher Education ranked Penn State 49th best in the world for a college education. The Penn State World Campus was ranked #13 among 20 online and traditional ranked for services provided to veterans. In fact, Penn State consistently ranks when discussing military-friendly schools. According to the Wall Street Journal, of non-New York universities, Penn State has the most alumni in NYC. It also has the largest dues paying Alumni Association and the largest student-run philanthropy in the world known as THON. So, please tell me how Penn State education is pitiful but, only after you share the name of your alma mater.
11 years ago at 4:45 pmCalm down, Babe. It’s just a rivalry thing. If I don’t go to Alabama and I call the Roll Tide pitiful, it’s just trash talk. The Tide have won 3 Titles in 5 years. They are a powerhouse. It’s not meant literally.
11 years ago at 5:19 pmIf he goes to a rivalry school, that’s a legit statement as a jab. I get it. I have just found that usually the people who talk the most trash about schools and their academics generally go to lesser institutions.
11 years ago at 6:05 pmI’m glad you took a half hour to check CollegeProwler for all of those rankings about your school. Shows you really care.
11 years ago at 12:45 pmBut how can you say your school is even in the upper echelon of universities, even in your own state?
UPenn accepts Penn State grads as janitors. Carnegie Mellon and Pitt use PSU bachelors degrees as ejaculatory receptacles.
Congrats, you achieved the same low standard of admission as the In-state Amish folks, and stumbled into Penn State.
Big state/party school sure, but you may as well sign up for a masters degree right when you get admitted, because a BA or BS from Penn State is about as useful as a poopy-flavored lollipop.
That’s cute saying Pitt is better than Penn State. Maybe you should check the rankings again. Furthermore, I still find it very telling that you didn’t disclose what fine institution gets to claim you.
11 years ago at 2:55 pmIt is genuinely astounding to me that keith olbermann is still a thing. He’s a washed up msnbc shit-slinger who has no business getting any attention ever again.
11 years ago at 4:19 pmIf Bill O’Reily or any other conservative TV personality did this, The media would somehow make this a gender/race issue
11 years ago at 8:45 pm“stupid and childish”
From a former MSNBC host, ya don’t say?
And to counter the whole bullshit argument “$13m won’t get anywhere to cure cancer”. Here’s the thing, pharma industry only becomes really profitable when drugs are in late stage development, and corporations can mortgage out predicted incomes to finish production. No one is even close to reaching that point, which means research has to rely on philanthropy to move forward. Whether that comes from the Gates Foundation or some PSU students, it’s all needed.
11 years ago at 11:44 pm[…] Queef’s tweets took a different tone earlier, as he yapped like an ill-tempered shih tzu at Penn State students and their charitable efforts, as documented at Total Frat Move. […]
11 years ago at 9:44 amFuck. All this time I though cancer was an astrology sign.
