Melissa Click Muscles Her Way Into A Job At Gonzaga University

Melissa Click is finally on her way out from whatever cave she lives in near the Mizzou campus, and she’s heading to the northwest. Yes, she’s Gonzaga’s problem now.

According to the Gonzaga Bulletin, Gonzaga University hired Click in late June after a national committee decided she was “the top candidate” to take over a lecturer position at the department of communication there. I shit you not.

The Gonzaga Bulletin:

Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak said in a statement Friday: ‘Dr. Click has excellent recommendations for both her teaching and scholarship, which includes an extensive record of publication. We are confident she has learned much from her experiences at the University of Missouri and believe she will uphold the rigorous standards of academic excellence demanded of Gonzaga faculty and students.’

‘We didn’t really factor much of the past in. Of course, I have to say, we knew about it. It was not something that was hidden. What we focused on was Dr. Click’s record as a teacher,’ said Communication Studies Department Chair Jonathan Rossing, a member of the search committee.

You’re correct, Elisabeth. Click has an extensive record of publication. Kinda like this:

And yes, Jonathan you should never factor in a candidate’s past. I mean, if someone was convicted of murder like two years ago then it’s cool. That was two years ago. I’m sure there’s a solid 42 percent chance they won’t do it again. That’s a risk I’m willing to take for someone to educate me about Lady Gaga’s impact on society (yes, that’s a real thing Click was researching at Mizzou).

I’m pretty stoked she’s gone. This was my reaction when I first heard the news:

Gonzaga readers, I don’t know if classes are back in action right now or not but please please PLEASE take her class and protest any homework or tests she tries to get. Tell her to stop using her white privilege to get other jobs. Openly arm wrestle another student so she knows you have muscle. Please.

According to Niche.com, Gonzaga scored a C+ for campus diversity. Mizzou has a B. Do I hear another bullshit campus uprising? I sure hope so.
