Michigan State’s Rose Bowl Riots Were Out Of Control Saturday Night
Last night, the Michigan State Spartans handed Urban Meyer’s Ohio State program their first lost in the last 25 games, dashing all hopes the Buckeye faithful had of a National Championship appearance.
While some may call the Spartan victory an upset, other Big Ten alumni like myself and fellow contributor J_Parks Caldwell, knew all too well about the stout defense Michigan State was touting all season long — easily the best in the conference — and expected the green and white to come out on top handily.
The victory was the Spartans’ second B1G Conference title in three years, and sealed a trip to the Rose Bowl for Mark Dantonio and his team. Exuberance was, of course, abundant in East Lansing last night where students took to the streets to celebrate the win.
A source from inside the MSU Greek community offered these remarks earlier this morning when sending along some pictures of the fiasco:
Here you go, brother. At least we beat Ohio State’s ass. During the riot there were full trees ripped out of the ground and burnt, girls flashing the crowd, and tons of reckless behavior.
First off, he knows I’m a Penn Stater, so I have to say thank you for doing what we could not this season; it means a ton. Secondly, judging from the additional pictures and videos we’ve obtained of what has now been dubbed the #RoseBowlRiot, I’d say he put it pretty lightly.
According to news this morning, there were no injuries reported, so it appears all this revelry was just some good old-fashioned fun that will not soon be forgotten by anyone who cheers on Michigan State for those twelve special Saturdays each fall.
The Rose Bowl awaits, Sparty.

Did it for the boys down in Auburn. War Spartans.
