Monday Motivation: Gunny Walgren’s John Glenn Speech

John Glenn, who recently passed away, has always been somewhat of a personal hero of mine. A decorated Marine fighter pilot and the first person to orbit the Earth, John Glenn was an all-around American legend. When he got tired of flying jets and going to space, he decided to give politics a shot. It was there, during a campaign for a senate seat, that he dropped some absolute knowledge on his opponent.

Now, is that exactly what John Glenn said? No, probably not. Is it what he was thinking? I like to believe so. John Glenn ended up beating his opponent, by the way. After all, how could you not vote for a dude who went to space? And like Gunny Walgren said, Glenn ended up being the oldest person to go into space, because he wasn’t going to let something like old age get in the way of being a badass.
