Earlier this month, our nation lost an absolute legend of a man. Lieutenant General Hal Moore, a decorated veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War, passed away at 94. You may know of him thanks to Mel Gibson’s portrayal of him in We Were Soldiers, a great film that depicts his service at LZ X-Ray during the Battle of Ia Drang in November, 1965.

A decorated combat commander, LTG Moore knew a thing or two about leadership and making thing happen under pressure. His actions and presence on the battlefield allowed his unit, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, to overcome overwhelming odds and defeat a hardened foe that outnumbered his men nearly three to one.

Listen to what LTG Moore had to say about leadership.

“Three strikes and you’re not out. There is always one more thing you can do.”

Get out there and do it.
