Montana State University To Students: “Stay Away From SAE”
When Greek life as a whole at your university is called out, it is usually going to turn out pretty poorly for your fraternity. When your fraternity is called out by your university, you’re pretty much screwed.
Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, recently called out their SAE chapter in a timely warning to students about dangerous parties being thrown by members of SAE. If the allegations are true, they’re pretty damning.
MSU ALERT: Timely Warning – University investigating alleged assault and drugging in Hawk’s Ridge condominium…

My main concern here is that they are still just allegations. I’m no master of the law, but from my understanding of the Jeanne Clery Act of 1990 — the act requiring federally-funded institutions to “timely warn” the public about crimes that occur on or near their premises and their efforts to stop them — the institutions are supposed to only report on the facts. The whole point of a timely warning is to keep the public up-to-date on what is known to be true, not to speculate on who committed a crime or who is “allegedly” hosting parties.
If SAE is drugging and assaulting people, that’s a problem that needs to be dealt with. But we don’t know if that’s true yet, because we live in America, where you’re innocent until proven guilty..

SAE Montana State is filled with creeps. Stay away.

10 years ago at 12:02 pm“We live in America, where you’re innocent until proven guilty”…unless you’re a straight, white male with any amount of money, then you’re a piece of shit by nature.
10 years ago at 11:32 amAnd a racist
10 years ago at 12:35 pmNo matter how boundless the claim, it will nevertheless be taken as gospel by the left.
10 years ago at 5:58 pmSAE takin heat
10 years ago at 11:33 amSadly, the saying has changed from innocent until proven guilty to guilty until proven innocent and unfortunately, that has begun to effect the Greek system in recent years.
10 years ago at 11:33 amEven if you are innocent, like that ZBT chapter accused of pissing on veterans which never actually happened, you’re still guilty.
10 years ago at 11:40 amWelcome to America, where if you’re a white male, innocence isn’t even a strong enough defense.
10 years ago at 12:18 pmThere was an alleged rape in a fraternity house on campus here and there are still people who think it happened. I even googled it recently and there are about two full pages about the “rape” before it even comes up that it was only alleged.
10 years ago at 5:49 pmHope its not true. Innocent until proven guilty.
10 years ago at 11:34 amThat was just low. I have nothing else to say.
10 years ago at 11:34 amAllegations. NF.
10 years ago at 11:36 amPretty appropriate that this article is right below “why SAE sucks” well played gents
10 years ago at 11:57 amIf you would have told me when I woke up this morning that TFM would post articles about both the University of Montana and the University of Idaho, I would have said you were crazy.
10 years ago at 12:05 pmWell they didn’t… So yeah.
10 years ago at 12:41 pmActually, they did.
10 years ago at 12:50 pmWell not really because if my understanding of the English language is correct the name Montana State University is not the same as the University of Montana.
10 years ago at 4:53 pmInnocent until proven guilty, but as long as the allegations are there, people tend to err on the side of caution and assume that it’s true anyways. That chapter is pretty much fucked socially.
