MSU’s Kicker Did His Signature Windmill Celebration At A Spartans Basketball Game Last Night

I can’t imagine anyone has had a better week than Michigan State kicker Michael Geiger.

Geiger, who is, without question, a fucking boss, hit a game-winning 41-yard field goal in Columbus as time expired to beat Ohio State 17-14 on Saturday. He then proceeded to run down the field in front of 100,000 miserable Buckeyes fans and taunt them with his signature windmill celebration.

But the highlight of his weekend, for me anyway, was when he went on local Michigan State radio for a post-game interview and told the entire MSU fanbase that he “fucking drilled it.”

His interview with Tom Rinaldi was pretty great, too:

Geiger continues to live the life. On Monday night, he attended the Michigan State basketball game against EMU. When he was shown on the video board, he stood up and recreated his phenomenal windmill celebration for a raucous crowd.

Good for this kid. People only ever learn a kicker’s name when he absolutely fucks up and ruins his team’s season. It is, without question, the most vilified position in all of sports. Nobody wants to be the guy who misses the big kick and fucks it up for the whole team.

But Geiger is clearly immune to pressure. The Ohio-native thrives on it. And even if he misses his next 10 kicks, no matter how crucial they might be, he will always be able to hang his hat on that Ohio State kick and be satisfied. And quite honestly, Michigan State fans won’t mind, either.
