Nebraska Football Player Goes Viral After Stiffing Waiter Who Talked Shit About The Huskers

Nebraska football has had a tough year, to say the least.

The 5-7 Cornhuskers might be bowl-bound due to an obscure rule that allows teams with losing records to fill bowl spots if there aren’t enough other worthy teams, but make no mistake about it, fans in Nebraska aren’t happy.

That was readily apparent when wide receiver Brandon Reilly visited a local restaurant this week. While he was there, he overheard his server go on a rant about the Huskers’ season. Not afraid to back down from some loudmouth fan, Reilly tipped the guy $0 and tweeted it out to Husker nation.

Fans were less than impressed with his stunt.

I personally don’t give a shit whether he tipped his server or not. In the heat of the moment, I probably would have done the same thing. Who knows, maybe the server was really shitty at their job, too. I wouldn’t have bothered leaving a passive-aggressive note about it, though. And I definitely wouldn’t have posted it online.

The pressure got to Reilly and he deleted his tweet, but not before the damage was done. If Nebraska was 9-2 and the same thing happened, I guarantee every damn Husker fan in the land would’ve gone to bat for this kid, but whatever. Live and learn, buddy.

I would have done the same thing. Bashing the team your customer plays for isn’t good customer service

“Who knows, maybe the server was really shitty at their job, too.” Sounds like the waiter took a page out of the Steve Holt book.

Tips were originally supposed to be for service people that went above and beyond. It’s not my fault you chose a job that pays you less. I don’t tip unless it’s deserved, like tipping was meant to be.

Yes. That’s what it was meant to be when everyone’s minimum wage was 2.13.
Trust me, any server or bartender that puts up with you and your drunk friends all night deserves a tip, whether you think so or not.
